In their desperation for votes, the Republican Party has opened its base to welcome some of our nation\u2019s most frightening hate groups.  Klanners, Birchers, Separatist militias, Dominionists, skin heads, neo Nazis, Minutemen and Baggers all network joyfully at open carry events and machine gun socials.  Unfortunately, they kill someone from time to time.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"8Bush\"A Tucson jury has sentenced a former Wenatchee man to death in the killings of a Southern Arizona man and his young daughter in May 2009. <\/p>\n

Jason Bush, 36, was sentenced Wednesday to capital punishment for the killings of Raul Junior Flores, 29, and Brisenia Flores, 9, according to the Pima County Attorney\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n

\u201cDeath by lethal injection on both counts,\u201d said Cheryl Thompson, a supervisor in the county attorney\u2019s office. Witnesses in the courtroom said Bush showed no emotion as the verdict was read.<\/p>\n

Bush faces two murder charges in Washington: second-degree murder in the July 1997 fatal stabbing of Hector Lopez Partida, 29, in Wenatchee; and first-degree murder in the September 1997 shooting death of Jonathan Bumstead, 18, near Palisades.<\/p>\n

The Washington state man was convicted March 25 of two counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors alleged that he and two others dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into the victims\u2019 home in Arivaca, south of Tucson.<\/p>\n

The Arizona Daily Star reports Bush was part of Minutemen American Defense founder Shawna Forde\u2019s plan to rob and kill drug smugglers to fund her organization.<\/p>\n

Forde, 43, of Everett, was convicted and sentenced to death in February.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I have found no connection, between this Bush and his more infamous namesake, except that they share a certain dull simian stare.  Anyway, GW ChickenHawk killes in the millions, not individually.<\/font><\/p>\n

The point here is that to further their own nefarious ends, Republicans will support any hate group, without caring who they hurt or kill.<\/font><\/p>\n

That said, I must voice my opposition to the death penalty.  It is about who we are as a culture, not who the criminals are or what they did.  Killing to say \u2018Thou shalt not kill\u2019 sets a very poor example.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
