{"id":4365,"date":"2011-03-21T06:44:12","date_gmt":"2011-03-21T13:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=4365"},"modified":"2011-03-21T06:44:12","modified_gmt":"2011-03-21T13:44:12","slug":"walker-can-afford-a-bit-of-fluff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/03\/21\/walker-can-afford-a-bit-of-fluff\/","title":{"rendered":"Walker Can Afford A Bit of Fluff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">At night, when I watch news, one face I always miss is that of Keith Olbermann.&#160; I look forward to his return.&#160; Nevertheless, his contribution continues.&#160; Yesterday he did a wonderful expose on the most bought governor in history, Scott Walker, and how, despite his claims of being broke, he can still afford to hire a bit of fluff to warm the bed of State Senator Randy Hopper, a key ally in Walker\u2019s campaign to destroy the Democratic Party\u2019s labor base, and with it America\u2019s middle class.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"21valerie_cass\" border=\"0\" alt=\"21valerie_cass\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/21valerie_cass.jpg\" width=\"317\" height=\"338\" \/>The ham-handed self-serving greediness playing out in the background of Governor Scott Walker\u2019s attempt to make Wisconsin into the central battle zone in the Koch Brothers\u2019 attempt to end collective bargaining in this country, roared to the forefront Sunday night when the <a style=\"text-align: left\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ekxm8C\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0066cc\">Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel <\/font><\/a>reported that <strong>the supposedly financially imperiled state had enough money to hire State Senator Randy Hopper\u2019s mistress<\/strong>.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Valerie Cass, a former Republican legislative staffer, was hired Feb. 7 as a communications specialist with the state Department of Regulation and Licensing. She is being paid $20.35 per hour. The job is considered a temporary post.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"GOPWiscFlag\" border=\"0\" alt=\"GOPWiscFlag\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GOPWiscFlag.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"240\" \/>A <span style=\"text-align: left\"><em>lot<\/em><\/span> of things in Wisconsin \u2013 especially those pertaining to one of Governor Walker\u2019s State Senate henchmen \u2013 appear to be temporary:<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">His estranged wife, Alysia, issued a <a style=\"text-align: left\" href=\"http:\/\/media.journalinteractive.com\/documents\/bicecol-032111.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0066cc\">statement<\/font><\/a> to WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) accusing Hopper, 45, of beginning an affair with Cass, 26, last year. He filed for divorce in August.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Oh but this gets better and better. How did Ms. Cass wind up being hired by the state with no money, away from a Madison firm called \u201cPersuasion Partners.\u201d Surely Governor Walker with his dedication to saving the Koch Brothers Wisconsin\u2019s residents every dollar he could find, could not have known about this!:<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">But who exactly recommended her for the post? Cullen Werwie, spokesman for the governor, confirmed that it was Keith Gilkes, Walker\u2019s chief of staff. She was then interviewed by the Department of Regulations and Licensing\u2019s executive assistant and deputy and hired by Secretary Dave Ross, a Walker cabinet member.<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"GOPgreedy\" border=\"0\" alt=\"GOPgreedy\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GOPgreedy.jpg\" width=\"318\" height=\"221\" \/>You can hear the hamsters running extra fast in that wheel inside Scott Walker\u2019s otherwise empty head<\/strong>. \u2018What? I can\u2019t hire this woman as payback for this guy\u2019s support in the Senate? Just because I\u2019m telling everybody we don\u2019t have any money?\u2019<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">And when you thought this couldn\u2019t get any sleazier, the saga of the hiring of the married Senator\u2019s young girlfriend during a supposed fiscal crisis of biblical proportions, manages to <strong>reach to\u2026the election of the new chairman of the Republican National Committee!<\/strong>:<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Werwie said <strong>Cass spent part of January in Washington, D.C., helping Reince Priebus with his bid to become the chairman of the Republican National Committee<\/strong>. He was elected to the post midway through the month. She brings up this duty in her note to Gilkes. \u201cThings are really heating up with Reince\u2019s campaign and shaping up nicely,\u201d she wrote. \u201c<strong><font color=\"#ff0000\">With the RNC vote coming up in a few weeks and Governor-elect Walker\u2019s inauguration this week, I was wondering if you had any more details about when you would have a spot ready for me?<\/font><\/strong>\u201d<\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in; font-family: \" align=\"left\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">So beneath the attempt to rollback a century of labor reform, and beneath the millions of dollars of Koch Brothers influence-buying and beneath all these dreamt-of sweeping social changes lies a little somethin\u2019-somethin\u2019 on the side who wants to know when the Gov \u201cwould have a spot ready for me?\u201d\u2026 [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/foknewschannel.com\/cut-the-unions-hire-the-girlfriends\/\" target=\"_blank\">FOK News Channel<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><strong>RepubliSpeak Dictionary<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Fidelity<\/em>: making sure your wife and mistress never meet.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Wisconsin can\u2019t afford unions, or a safety net, or education, but Gov.
