Wisconsin\u2019s Governor Walker is a liar.  Nothing he has done has been about the budget as he revealed when he thought he had his nose between David Koch\u2019s cheeks.  It\u2019s about busting unions, enriching criminal corporations, and destroying Democrats\u2019 chances to win elections.  After looking at some of this monster\u2019s lies, lets see why he is about to lose this battle.<\/font><\/p>\n

\"9wanker\"We\u2019re used to politicians stretching the truth, but the level of deception and dishonesty Wisconsin\u2019s governor has exhibited in the battle over his union-busting budget repair bill (even the name is a falsehood) sinks to astounding new lows.  What follows are the 20 lies I\u2019ve identified in a quick review of the record.  If you find or recall others, please let me know.  We\u2019ll keep updating.<\/font><\/p>\n

Walker: <\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a>His bill is about fixing a budget crisis.<\/font><\/p>\n

The truth: <\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a>Even Fox News\u2019 Shepherd Smith couldn\u2019t swallow that one, declaring that it\u2019s all about politics and union busting, and \u201cto pretend that this is about a fiscal crisis in the state of Wisconsin is malarkey.\u201d<\/font><\/p>\n

Walker: <\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a>says he campaigned on his budget repair plan, including curtailing collective bargaining.<\/font><\/p>\n

\u201cWe introduced a measure last week, a measure I ran on during the campaign, a measure I talked about in November during the transition, a measure I talked about in December when we fought off the employee contracts, an idea I talked about in the inauguration, an idea I talked about in the state of the state. If anyone doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s coming, they\u2019ve been asleep for the past two years.\u201d<\/font><\/p>\n

The truth:<\/font><\/strong><\/span> Walker, who offered many specific proposals during the campaign, did not go public with even the sketchiest outline of his far-reaching  plans to kill collective bargaining rights. He could not point to any statements where he did.  In fact, he was caught on tape boasting to what he thought was his billionaire backer that he had \u201cdropped the bomb.\u201d<\/font><\/p>\n

Walker:<\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a> <\/strong><\/span>keeps saying that \u201calmost all\u201d of the protesters at the Capitol are from outside the state<\/font><\/p>\n

The truth:<\/font><\/strong><\/span> \u201cThe vast majority of people protesting are from here \u2014 Wisconsin and even more from Dane County,\u201d said Joel DeSpain, public information officer for the Madison Police Department.<\/font><\/p>\n

Walker: <\/font><\/strong><\/span>He wants to negotiate.<\/font><\/p>\n

The truth:<\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a> He won\u2019t negotiate, but he\u2019ll pretend to so he can trick the 14 Dem senators into allowing a vote on his bill. Walker recently offered to actually sit down and speak with the minority leader \u2013 something he should have done anyway and long ago \u2013 but only if the rest of the senators came back with him. Why?<\/font><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026legally, we believe, once they\u2019ve gone into session, they don\u2019t physically have to be there. If they\u2019re actually in session for that day and they take a recess, the 19 Senate Republicans could then go into action and they\u2019d have a quorum because they started out that way\u2026But that would be the only, if you heard that I was going to talk to them, that would be the only reason why. We\u2019d only do it if they came back to the capital with all 14 of them. And my sense is, hell, I\u2019ll talk to them. If they want to yell at me for an hour, you know, I\u2019m used to that, I can deal with that. But I\u2019m not negotiating.\u201d<\/font><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, Senate Democrats must stay where they are for the time being.  They need remember that, during Wanker\u2019s infamous phone call, the SOB admitted that he intended to try to trick the Democratic Senators into returning.  We should not be fooled to think that what Walker has failed to do through abuse of power, he wont try to do through deceit.  After all, that\u2019s what Republicans do.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
