If I had a nickel for every time a neighbor\u00a0<\/strong>has complained on Facebook recently about our local post office, I\u2019d bail out the entire U.S. Postal Service, which is $14 billion in debt.<\/p>\n

See, that\u2019s just the problem. The Postal Service has been struggling financially for years. Throw in a pandemic and\u00a0record-breaking<\/a>\u00a0holiday shipping season (during which FedEx and UPS turned away customers as volume grew), and America\u2019s\u00a0most popular<\/a>\u00a0federal agency is woefully behind on deliveries.<\/p>\n

But before you jump to conclusions about why<\/strong>, check out this\u00a0new report<\/a>\u00a0from the Economic Policy Institute on what they call \u201cthe war against Postal Service.\u201d<\/p>\n
