{"id":4188,"date":"2011-03-01T04:38:06","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=4188"},"modified":"2011-03-01T04:38:06","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T12:38:06","slug":"so-be-it-700000-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/03\/01\/so-be-it-700000-times\/","title":{"rendered":"&quot;So Be It&quot; 700,000 Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">When Republicans were running for office in 2010, they called everything Democrats did \u201cjob killing\u201d and everything they planned would create jobs.&#160; They were lying, of course.&#160; That\u2019s what Republicans do best.&#160; But some voters believed them.&#160; Other voters were mad and stayed home or cast protest votes, and elections do have consequences.&#160; We all have to suffer them, even the Republican politicians.&#160; They are suffering because they had to come up with a budget, not just say NO over and over again, and the economists are starting to report on that budget.&#160; When confronted, Speaker Boehner, AKA Agent Orange, said that, if it costs jobs, <strong>SO BE IT<\/strong>!&#160; If he repeats it once for each job Republicans kill, he will have to say it 700,000 times.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"1Jobs\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1Jobs\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/1Jobs.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/>House Republicans\u2019 $61 billion budget-cutting plan would cost 700,000 jobs<\/strong>, according to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.economy.com\/dismal\/article_free.asp?cid=197630&amp;src=bb\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> likely to inflame the debate over the U.S. government deficit. <\/p>\n<p>The measure would reduce real economic growth this year by 0.5 percentage points and by 0.2 percentage points next year, resulting in 700,000 fewer jobs by the end of 2012, said Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody\u2019s Analytics. He said budget- cutters should wait until the U.S. economy is stronger, saying Republicans \u201cwould be taking an unnecessary chance with the recovery.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSignificant government spending restraint is vital, but given the economy\u2019s halting recovery <strong>it would be counterproductive for that restraint to begin until the U.S. is creating enough jobs to lower the unemployment rate<\/strong>,\u201d Zandi said. <\/p>\n<p>The House approved its plan Feb. 19.
