Yesterday was a very bad day for Republicans and their struggle to establish one party rule by destroying unions.\u00a0 Rarely, if ever has a party done so much in a single day to expose their own stupidity, dishonesty, incompetence, and greed.\u00a0 It began when Wisconsin\u2019s Court Jester<\/span> Governor fawned over a lefty blogger, thinking he was sucking Koch, and ended in the labor\u2019s first victory in this struggle, with a crime and some more fun in between, as the following articles and video\u2019s reveal.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the record, I admit that it was dishonest for Ian Murphy of The Buffalo Beast<\/a> to punk Scott Walker, but the level of deception does not come close to a Republican smear job.\u00a0 The difference is that Murphy posted the complete audio of the conversation in two parts, here<\/a> and here<\/a>.\u00a0 A Republican hit would use creative editing to change the context of what was said to deceive the public, like the O\u2019Keefe smears of ACORN.\u00a0 That said, I congratulate Murphy on a magnificent coup.<\/span><\/p>\n

Walkers plan to trick Democratic Senators into giving him a quorum and his consideration of hiring thugs to make trouble are particularly despicable.\u00a0 Plus I cannot get over the way the little fool kept kissing butt!<\/span><\/p>\n

As if that were not enough for one day, in Indiana a Republican State official demonstrated the extent of Republican hatred for Main Street Americans.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"23LiveAmmo\"An Indiana deputy attorney general lost his job<\/strong> Wednesday after commenting online that authorities should use “live ammunition”<\/span> to run off the throngs of protesters railing over union collective bargaining rights two states away in Wisconsin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The former state prosecutor, Jeffrey Cox, attached the comment “Use Live Ammunition” in response to a Feb. 19 Twitter posting by a writer for Mother Jones magazine. The writer, Adam Weinstein, wrote that riot police officers had been ordered to clear protesters from the Wisconsin state capitol in Madison.<\/p>\n

The rumored 2 a.m. Sunday expulsion of protesters in Madison never happened.<\/p>\n

Mother Jones on Wednesday published an article about Cox’s Twitter posting and other inflammatory remarks the former state prosecutor had made online. By the end of the day, Cox had been fired from his job.<\/p>\n

“Civility and courtesy toward all members of the public are very important to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office,” the agency said in a prepared \u2018statement. “We respect individuals’ First Amendment right to express their personal views on private online forums, but as public servants we are held by the public to a higher standard, and we should strive for civility.”<\/p>\n

Cox’s initial Twitter remark Saturday night set off a pointed online exchange between the prosecutor and the author of the Mother Jones article.<\/p>\n

Cox, according to Weinstein, called the demonstrators “political enemies” and “thugs” who were threatening to injure elected officials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“You’re damned right I advocate deadly force<\/strong>,” Cox purportedly wrote, according to the Mother Jones article. He also called the author a “typical leftist,” and wrote, “liberals hate police\u201d<\/strong>\u2026.[emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m hoping that cox was just being wise-ass, when he made the original suggestion, but there is no place in government for people who suggest such things, current Republican members of the US Congress and Republican presidential hopefuls included.\u00a0 You never know who might be listening or what they will do, as the picture above should clearly show.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re still not done.\u00a0 None of this is the kind of stuff that the Republican Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox, likes to tell the sheeple.\u00a0 Since there was no good news (from their warped perspective), they took the recent poll results, overwhelmingly supporting the unions over the Republican plot to destroy them, switched the numbers, and lied.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you see idiots claiming that the public supports Walker, now you\u2019ll know why.<\/span><\/p>\n

All this was too much for the Indiana Republican Party.\u00a0 They choked.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"24IndUnions\"Republican lawmakers in Indiana have given up on a controversial anti-union bill that drove Democratic legislators out of the state<\/strong>, but Democrats want to see other controversial bills dropped before they return, the Indianapolis Star reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Like Wisconsin Democrats before them, Indiana Democrats yesterday fled their state to stall a vote on a state bill that would weaken unions. But while the legislative battle rages on in Wisconsin, the Indiana labor measure known as the “right to work” bill is now effectively dead. Republicans in the state say they will move the issue to a legislative committee for review later in the year, according to the Star.<\/p>\n

The bill in question would have prohibited union membership or fees from being a condition of employment<\/strong>\u2026 [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To clarify, if the employees in a plant have unionized, accepting work there requires union membership.\u00a0 In a so called \u201cright top work\u201d state, like Indiana Republicans wanted.\u00a0 Union shops can hire non-union workers at whatever pay rate they will accept.\u00a0 If such workers are available, companies can fire the union workers and replace them with non union personnel.\u00a0 In \u201cright to work\u201d states, average workers (all workers, not just union workers) earn about $5,000 less than in states that respect collective bargaining.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was a big win for labor and the Democratic Party.\u00a0 And the beauty is that Republicans showed their true colors along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
