That&#8217;s because a good many of the Twitterverse responses were quite serious \u2013 and appropriately so.\u00a0 Consequently, I&#8217;m going to honor those rejoinders \u2013 but hopefully add some lighter ones, too.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin with the actual historical background that prompted Jefferson&#8217;s letter in the first place &#8211; because it reminds us of a certain someone:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#39;s interesting Ivanka picked this example because the thing Jefferson&#39;s enemies were accusing him of &#8212; fathering a child with a slave &#8212; was absolutely something he did. 6 times as a matter of fact. Jefferson worked his whole life to ensure the president was not above the law<br \/>b.)
