{"id":3807,"date":"2011-01-07T10:47:15","date_gmt":"2011-01-07T18:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=3807"},"modified":"2011-01-07T10:47:15","modified_gmt":"2011-01-07T18:47:15","slug":"are-people-really-at-risk-over-wikileaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2011\/01\/07\/are-people-really-at-risk-over-wikileaks\/","title":{"rendered":"Are People Really at Risk over WikiLeaks?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">The State Department is warning some people that they are at risk due to exposures in WikiLeaks, and even moving some.&#160; But are people really at risk, or is this just a propaganda move to vilify those that have embarrassed people who should be embarrassed over their behavior?&#160; In my opinion, the latter is the truth.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px\" title=\"7WikiLeaks\" border=\"0\" alt=\"7WikiLeaks\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/7WikiLeaks.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"216\" \/>The State Department is warning hundreds of human rights activists, foreign government officials and businesspeople identified in leaked diplomatic cables <strong>of potential threats to their safety and has moved a handful of them to safer locations<\/strong>, administration officials said Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>The operation, which involves a team of 30 in Washington and embassies from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, reflects the administration\u2019s <strong>fear<\/strong> that <strong>the disclosure of cables obtained by the organization WikiLeaks has damaged American interests by exposing foreigners who supply valuable information to the United States<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Administration officials said they were not aware of anyone who has been attacked or imprisoned as a direct result of information in the 2,700 cables that have been made public to date by WikiLeaks<\/strong>, The New York Times and several other publications, many with some names removed.
