Barr\u2019s review of the origins of the Russia investigation has become a criminal probe:\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026No question, it\u2019s deeply worrying that the Attorney General\u2019s review \u2014 which President Trump badly wants in hopes of discrediting the origins of the special counsel investigation that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2019\/04\/ben-wittes-five-conclusions-mueller-report\/588259\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">revealed bottomless corruption<\/a> on his part \u2014 now appears to be a criminal matter.  <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/justice-dept-investigation-of-russia-probe-is-criminal-in-nature-person-familiar-with-case-says\/2019\/10\/24\/ad8c71de-f6c5-11e9-8cf0-4cc99f74d127_story.html?tid=lk_inline_manual_6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Post<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/10\/24\/us\/politics\/john-durham-criminal-investigation.html?action=click&amp;module=Top%20Stories&amp;pgtype=Homepage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Times<\/a> both cite sources who confirm this, noting that this gives John Durham, the U.S. attorney from Connecticut who\u2019s running the review with Barr, additional investigative powers.  <\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s also stipulate upfront that when we\u2019re talking about Barr, the most nefarious designs imaginable must be treated as a serious possibility. Barr appears willing to manipulate the U.S. law enforcement machinery to an extraordinary degree to protect Trump from accountability and to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/04\/19\/us\/politics\/mueller-report-william-barr-excerpts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">propagandize away<\/a> Trump\u2019s corruption and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/04\/23\/us\/politics\/trump-mueller-obstruction.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">likely criminality<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Is this bullshit any more than what we&#8217;ve come to expect from Barrf? <strong>RESIST<\/strong>!!<\/font>  <\/p>\n<h1 align=\"center\"><font color=\"#0000ff\"><font style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vote Blue!!<\/font><\/font><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a crappy day here in the CatBox.&nbsp; Republicosis hit last night and I was up most of the night popping George on and off.&nbsp; Pardon my brevity.&nbsp; Stinky Hugs to all.
