In a statement, he added that \u201cthis is a critical first step in conducting the real investigation of Brett Kavanaugh that Senate Republicans prevented from happening.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Despite credible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/2018\/10\/05\/yale-drinking-buddies-justice-stevens-washington-post-its-not-just-progressives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">allegations<\/a> of past sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh and concerns about how the judge\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/2018\/08\/29\/legal-analysis-exposes-kavanaughs-long-history-siding-corporate-power-over-common\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">far-right views<\/a> on various issues could shape the country\u2019s future laws, he was narrowly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/2018\/10\/06\/kavanaugh-confirmation-followed-immediately-call-impeach-kavanaugh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">confirmed<\/a> to the high court by the Republican-held Senate in October, following what critics called a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news\/2019\/04\/11\/progressives-call-house-democrats-probe-sham-confirmation-process-brett-kavanaugh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sham confirmation process<\/a>.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Good deal!
