McCabe, the former deputy F.B.I. director, said in an interview aired on Thursday that top Justice Department officials became so alarmed by President Trump\u2019s decision in May 2017 to fire James B. Comey, the bureau\u2019s director, that they discussed whether to recruit cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office.  <\/p>\n<p>The dire concerns about the president\u2019s actions also prompted Mr. McCabe to order the bureau\u2019s team investigating Russia\u2019s election interference to look into whether Mr. Trump had obstructed justice by firing Mr. Comey. <strong>The F.B.I. also began examining whether Mr. Trump had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/andrew-mccabe-says-he-ordered-the-obstruction-of-justice-case-of-president-trump-60-minutes\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mr. McCabe\u2019s explosive remarks<\/a> were made in an interview with \u201c60 Minutes\u201d scheduled to air in full on Sunday. He was promoting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Threat-Protects-America-Terror-Trump\/dp\/1250207576\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1550154103&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=andrew+mccabe\" target=\"_blank\">his memoir<\/a>, \u201cThe Threat: How the F.B.I.
