I am thankful for the indigenous peoples of North America!<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I am not thankful for Christopher Columbus.<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

I am exceptionally thankful for Wendy!!!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I am not thankful for Bought Bitch Mitch or Lyin\u2019 Ryan.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I am thankful for TomCat.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I am not thankful for Trump supporters.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

I am thankful for all of you.<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

I am not thankful for pseudo-Christians.<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

I am thankful for the strength to<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

This is, for the most part, a repeat of Tomcat’s greeting last year.\u00a0 The “I am”\u00a0 on lines 2, 3, 6 and 7 however is me, Squatch, while the rest are from TomCat.\u00a0 Hey, why try to reinvent the wheel.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a Canadian and we celebrated Thanksgiving in October.\u00a0 As I wrote last year,<\/span><\/p>\n

In Canada, Thanksgiving dates back to 1578 and the exploration of the Northwest Passage by Martin Frobisher. \u00a0Canada was untouched by Columbus but many non Canadian\u00a0people associate Thanksgiving with the US Columbus Day. \u00a0Rather our first contact with Europeans came in the 12th century with the arrival of the Norse explorer Leif Erikson of Iceland, and later Greenland. \u00a0From Wikipedia \u00a0Thanksgiving in Canada<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

“Years later,\u00a0French settlers, having crossed the ocean and arrived in Canada with explorer\u00a0Samuel de Champlain, in 1604 onwards also held huge feasts of thanks. They even formed the\u00a0Order of Good Cheer\u00a0and gladly shared their food with their First Nations neighbours.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Canadian Thanksgiving\u00a0“\u2026\u00a0corresponds to the English and continental European\u00a0Harvest festival, with churches decorated with\u00a0cornucopias,\u00a0pumpkins, corn, wheat sheaves, and other harvest bounty, \u2026 drawn from biblical stories relating to the Jewish harvest festival of\u00a0Sukkot.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Whatever country you live in, there are many things for which to be thankful!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
