It has been awhile since I published.\u00a0 I have several ideas but I have not had the time to bring them to fruition.\u00a0 Hopefully\u00a0 I will be able to get them done before too long.\u00a0 In the mean time, here are 4 short takes and a Simon’s Cat video.<\/span><\/p>\n

Short Takes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

AlterNet<\/span><\/strong><\/a> —\u00a0Donald Trump is either lying about tax cuts, in search of headlines to fool voters who saw through the first Republican tax bill <\/span>…<\/p>\n

Trump\u00a0<\/span>floated the idea<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday in Nevada and then insisted on it to reporters on Monday,\u00a0<\/span>saying<\/a>\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re putting in a resolution sometime in the next week, or week and a half,\u00a0two weeks.\u201d When reporters followed up on exactly\u00a0<\/span>how<\/em>\u00a0this was going to happen, with Congress out of session, Trump said \u201cWe won\u2019t have time to do the vote. We\u2019ll do the vote later,\u201d specifically \u201cafter the election.\u201d He does not appear to be talking about the tweaks to the previous tax plan that the House already passed but which is unlikely to get through the Senate.<\/span><\/p>\n

I heard about this yesterday on the news while I was out and about. This is nothing more than a tax scam to woo middle class voters to vote for Republicans.\u00a0 Anyone who votes Republican on the basis of a middle class tax break being passed after the midterms<\/strong><\/em> is gullible and delusional. McTurtle has already committed to changing social security, Medicare and Medicaid so drastically that they will not be the same, if they even survive at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hill<\/strong><\/span><\/a> —\u00a0The FBI says it was unable to locate any photos of former FBI Director James Comey and special counsel Robert Mueller “hugging and kissing” after President Trump claimed<\/a> he could provide 100 such images.<\/p>\n

BuzzFeed News reporter Jason Leopold on Tuesday shared the Justice Department’s response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request he filed with the bureau asking for photographs of Mueller and Comey “hugging and kissing each other.”<\/p>\n

The FBI said in response that its search did not turn up any records corresponding with Leopold’s request.<\/p>\n

Is there no end to the stupidity that is Donald J Trump aka Diaper Don? What passes for a brain is working at a fever pitch to discredit an investigation that he says will show no collusion.\u00a0 Yea right!!! (dripping with sarcasm) Now tell me something that I can believe because I certainly do NOT believe Diaper Don!\u00a0 If there was no collusion, then why is the moron so obsessed with the investigation?\u00a0 Please, somebody tell us!<\/span><\/p>\n

Huffington Post<\/strong><\/span><\/a> —\u00a0Actor and comedian <\/span>Jim Carrey<\/a> usually saves his political musings <\/span>for Twitter<\/a> or his latest painting. This weekend, though, he voiced his views while accepting the Charlie Chaplin Award for Excellence in Comedy from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles on Friday night.<\/span> \u2026<\/p>\n

Much to the audience\u2019s delight, Carrey then went full bore into a poignant, impassioned speech about the current political system.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlmost half of America at this moment believes there is a sinister deep state diabolically plotting … to what?\u201d Carrey asked. \u201cGive them health care?\u201d<\/p>\n

He praised his comedy hero, actor Charlie Chaplin, for the ingenious, subversive political commentary in his films.<\/p>\n
