{"id":33205,"date":"2018-07-25T13:40:45","date_gmt":"2018-07-25T20:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=33205"},"modified":"2018-07-25T14:53:33","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T21:53:33","slug":"republican-propaganda-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2018\/07\/25\/republican-propaganda-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Republican Propaganda Time!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Yes, I know.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t have to tell me that Republican propaganda began, in earnest, with Nixon and has been growing ever since.\u00a0 But the last couple weeks have been very bad for the Tangerine Tovarisch.\u00a0 Twelve of his allies in Russia were indicted.\u00a0 The Helsinki blowjob and his subsequent lame excuse humiliated him.\u00a0 The Mueller probe is closing in.\u00a0 Cohen taped him bribing a mistress.\u00a0 Worst of all, people all over the world are laughing at him.\u00a0 I think the current barrage of disinformation is borne of desperation, and his minions keep goose-stepping behind him.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"0725GOPRussianNazi\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/0725GOPRussianNazi-1.jpg\" alt=\"0725GOPRussianNazi\" width=\"700\" height=\"524\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was perhaps the most explosive exchange in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/international\/archive\/2018\/07\/trump-putin\/565238\/\">incendiary press conference<\/a>: Russian President Vladimir Putin appearing to frankly admit to a motive for, and maybe even to the act of, meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, despite repeatedly denying Russian interference in American politics during the rest of his appearance with Donald Trump in Finland on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But the exchange doesn\u2019t appear in full in the White House\u2019s live-stream or transcript of the press conference, and it\u2019s missing entirely from the Kremlin\u2019s transcript of the event<\/strong>. The White House did not immediately provide an explanation for the discrepancy.<\/p>\n<p>Understanding what Putin said depends on what you watch or where you look. If you watch the video of the news conference provided by the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.kremlin.ru\/events\/president\/news\/58017\/videos\">Russian government<\/a>, or by news outlets such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/watch-live-trump-and-putin-hold-joint-news-conference-in-helsinki\">PBS<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/07\/16\/world\/europe\/russia-trump-putin-news-conference-transcript.html\">Associated Press<\/a>, you will hear the Reuters reporter Jeff Mason <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-russia-summit\/trump-backs-putin-on-election-meddling-at-summit-stirs-fierce-criticism-idUSKBN1K601D\">ask<\/a> a bombshell of a question: <strong>\u201cPresident Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Putin then responds with a bombshell of an answer, according to the English translation of his remarks that was broadcast during the press conference: \u201cYes, I did. Yes, I did.
