They include some anti-American extremists, people who might have been afraid to share their opinions in public fifteen years ago for fear of ostracism by their neighbors, people who felt free only when hidden under a sheet and hood, people who would have been considered too corrupt to serve on a school board, people who represent hate, intolerance and greed.\u00a0 They are the Freshman class of Republicans in the House and Senate.\u00a0 Criminal corporations bought their seats with lies, but if you didn\u2019t vote, don\u2019t whine to me when you see the harm they do.\u00a0 You put them there.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px; display: inline; float: right;\" title=\"RepublicanPlatform\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/RepublicanPlatform.jpg\" alt=\"RepublicanPlatform\" width=\"240\" height=\"333\" align=\"right\" \/>Following last night\u2019s election, over 100 freshmen Republicans will take their seats in the 112th Congress. These GOPers come from disparate backgrounds, but they are united by their adherence to the extreme wing of conservative ideology.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">A new ThinkProgress investigation has found that the incoming GOP freshman class is rife with legislators who not only oppose climate change legislation, but deny that manmade global warming even exists. They are pushing not just to end birthright citizenship, but also demand that the United States reduce the number of legal immigrants. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Here is a snapshot of the GOP Class of 2010\u2019s extremism:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><strong>ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 50% deny the existence of manmade climate change<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 86% are opposed to <span style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>any<\/em><\/span> climate change legislation that increases government revenue<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><strong>IMMIGRATION<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 39% have already declared their intention to end the 14th Amendment\u2019s guarantee of birthright citizenship<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 32% want to reduce legal immigration<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><strong>TAXES\/SPENDING<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 91% have sworn to never allow an income tax increase on any individual or business \u2013 regardless of deficits or war<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 79% have pledged to permanently repeal the estate tax<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8211; 48% are pushing for a balanced budget amendment<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; margin: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2010\/11\/03\/gop-frosh-class\/\" target=\"_blank\">Think Progress<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The article continues to list all of them and has hundreds of links to their own stated positions on key issues.\u00a0 I recommend you click through and save it as a resource for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I know that this does not apply to the people who regularly read comment here.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019d like you to get to know a few people.
