Russ Jennings, R-Lakin. He said the move would prohibit using any state money for defense or penalties involved in a finding of a contempt of court by statewide elected officials. What we need is only peace,&#8221; Moon told a meeting of senior secretaries, according to a presidential Blue House official who briefed media.<\/p>\n<p>Moon and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday pledged to end hostilities between the two countries and work towards the &#8220;complete denuclearisation&#8221; of the Korean peninsula in the first inter-Korean summit in more than a decade.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I would like to think the Nobel Committee would have the moral fortitude to turn down Trump&#8217;s nomination.\u00a0 I for one, do not believe that Trump was the impetus for the two Koreas coming together.\u00a0 Of course, he thinks he is and will take all the credit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/onpolitics\/2018\/05\/02\/republican-lawmakers-nominate-donald-trump-nobel-peace-prize\/573768002\/\"><strong>USA Today<\/strong><\/a> reports that 18 Republicans Congress critters have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.\u00a0 Click through the article for the names of the &#8220;infamous 18&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable-p-1 p-text\">It&#8217;s official: President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable-p-2 p-text\">On Tuesday, 18 members of Congress \u2014 all Republicans \u2014 sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, nominating Trump to receive the award for his work to &#8220;end the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula, and bring peace to the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p-text\">Here&#8217;s what they wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p-text\">&#8220;Since taking office, President Trump has worked tirelessly to apply maximum pressure on North Korea to end its illicit weapons programs and bring peace to the region. Earlier this year, for instance, the Wall Street Journal\u2019s editor-in-chief Gerard Baker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/meet-the-press\/meet-press-1-1-17-n702006\">insisted that<\/a> the Wall Street Journal wouldn\u2019t label Trump\u2019s false statements \u201clies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baker argued that lying requires a \u201cdeliberate intention to mislead,\u201d which couldn\u2019t be proven in the case of Trump. Baker\u2019s critics <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/plum-line\/wp\/2017\/01\/02\/yes-donald-trump-lies-a-lot-and-news-organizations-should-say-so\/\">pushed back<\/a>, raising valid and important points about the duty of the press to report what is true.<\/p>\n<p>As important as discussions about the role of the press as fact-checkers are, in this case Baker\u2019s critics are missing the point. Baker is right. Trump isn\u2019t lying. He\u2019s bullshitting. And that\u2019s an important distinction to make.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">This article dates from February 2017.\u00a0 I found the philosophical difference between bullshitting and lying interesting, and something I had not considered previously.\u00a0 There has been discussion about Trump&#8217;s lies . . . are they lies or is that his reality?\u00a0 Based on the definitions, I agree with the author . .\u00a0 .
