{"id":3140,"date":"2010-10-18T01:50:37","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T08:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=3140"},"modified":"2010-10-18T01:50:37","modified_gmt":"2010-10-18T08:50:37","slug":"pass-on-the-buck-dont-elect-this-hater","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2010\/10\/18\/pass-on-the-buck-dont-elect-this-hater\/","title":{"rendered":"Pass on the Buck: Don&rsquo;t Elect This Hater!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Watching Republican candidates this year, we have become accustomed to a wide variety of outrageous expression, running the gamut from inane to insane.&#160; But even within this set of misfits, this man is just vile.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 10px 5px 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"18ken-Buck\" border=\"0\" alt=\"18ken-Buck\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/18kenBuck.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"178\" \/> On Sunday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/39674828\/ns\/meet_the_press-transcripts\" target=\"_blank\">&quot;Meet the Press,&quot;<\/a> Tea Party darling and Colorado Republican Senate candidate <strong>Ken Buck made the outrageous claims that being gay was &quot;a lifestyle choice&quot; and that a case of <font color=\"#ff0000\">rape was nothing more than &quot;buyer&#8217;s remorse.&quot;<\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When asked by &quot;Meet the Press&quot; moderator David Gregory, Buck said he believed that being gay was a lifestyle choice; asked whether sexual orientation is determined at birth, Mr. Buck replied: \u201cI think birth has an influence on it like alcoholism and other things, but I think that basically you have a choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adding insult to injury, Buck also expressed no regrets about his four-year-old characterization of an alleged rape as &quot;buyer&#8217;s remorse.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>Insisting that being gay is a \u201clifestyle choice,\u201d simply disqualifies Buck from public office.
