{"id":3114,"date":"2010-10-15T01:56:32","date_gmt":"2010-10-15T08:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=3114"},"modified":"2010-10-15T01:56:32","modified_gmt":"2010-10-15T08:56:32","slug":"being-right-isnt-always-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2010\/10\/15\/being-right-isnt-always-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"Being Right Isn&rsquo;t Always Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">On the ongoing confusion over the status of DADT, the military has announced a halt in its enforcement, but DOJ has announced its intent to appeal and requested a stay.&#160; President Barack Obama has finally explained why he\u2019s handling it the way he is, and I think he is right, even though I don\u2019t like it at all.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 0px 5px 10px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"15Obama\" border=\"0\" alt=\"15Obama\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/15Obama.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"229\" \/> President Barack Obama says the military&#8217;s ban on gays serving openly in the military will end on his watch. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a town hall meeting of young adults Thursday, Obama said he believes anyone who wants to serve in the military should be allowed to do so regardless of sexual orientation. <\/p>\n<p>However, Obama says he can&#8217;t end the &quot;don&#8217;t ask, don&#8217;t tell&quot; law with an executive order and is urging Congress to repeal it. <\/p>\n<p>The president did not discuss his administration&#8217;s response to a California judge&#8217;s order that would allow gays to serve openly in the military.
