I can FINALLY<\/em> see the light at the end of the tunnel!\u00a0 I only have 0.75 more hours to earn that will allow me to renew my medical license, so I should be able to get that done tomorrow.\u00a0 I usually like to earn an extra hour as a safety cushion in case I got the Certificate Expiration Date<\/em> wrong.\u00a0 (But this year, maybe just a half-hour \u2026 or none at all!)<\/em><\/p>\n

I told Mom when I left on Wednesday I would come back on Christmas day, and I\u2019m anxious to see her!\u00a0 This Rehab unit doesn\u2019t provide phones, so I got her another, newer (but el cheapo \u2013 kind of like a burner phone) cell phone.\u00a0 But after working with her for over an hour, she just can\u2019t see the buttons to use it because of her macular degeneration.\u00a0 So I haven\u2019t talked to her for a couple of days \u2013 although I call the nurse\u2019s station daily to check-in on how she\u2019s doing: thankfully, very well!\u00a0 (I\u2019m trying to look at it as practice for the inevitable permanent disconnect\u2026. \u00a0Lord, I\u2019m going to miss those phone calls!)<\/em><\/p>\n

At any rate, my brother is flying in from Tampa on Wednesday for a few days, so I\u2019m hoping to get all those year-end chores (CME, license renewal, bills paid, personal property tax paid, real property tax paid [OUCH!]<\/em>, year-end donations made, etc.) done by tomorrow so I can head up Sunday \u2013 a day early.\u00a0 Unfortunately, they\u2019ve now moved SNOW<\/em> into our forecast for early (2 AM) Sunday morning north from KCMO along I-35 to at least the Iowa border, so I\u2019ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n

YIKES!\u00a0 You\u2019re three paragraphs into reading this maudlin screed, and it\u2019s all about me whining.\u00a0 ENOUGH!<\/em>\u00a0 Well, almost \u2026 just a note that this will be just a snippet from a previous year\u2019s Xmas offering.\u00a0 So you can re-visit the full thing here:<\/p>\n
