{"id":3000,"date":"2010-10-01T02:30:52","date_gmt":"2010-10-01T09:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=3000"},"modified":"2010-10-01T02:30:52","modified_gmt":"2010-10-01T09:30:52","slug":"anonymous-republicans-attack-oregons-defazio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2010\/10\/01\/anonymous-republicans-attack-oregons-defazio\/","title":{"rendered":"Anonymous Republicans Attack Oregon&rsquo;s DeFazio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Representative Peter DeFazio represents Oregon\u2019s 4th District.&#160; He\u2019s an independent sort who votes what he thinks is right.&#160; I don\u2019t always agree with him, but I\u2019d have no problem voting for him and now formally endorse him, were I in his district, which is normally completely safe.&#160; This year, Republicans are flooding the TV with attack adds anonymously financed by the energy industry, because his opponent, Art Robinson, is what I call a <em>pocket professor<\/em>.&#160; That\u2019s an academic willing to sell his credentials to whomever fills his pocket.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 0px 5px 10px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"1defazio\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1defazio\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/1defazio.jpg\" width=\"221\" height=\"228\" \/> Congressman Peter DeFazio, D-4th District, said today that a political committee based in Washington had increased its purchase of TV time for commercials attacking him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConcerned Taxpayers of America\u201d increased its media buy by over $79,000 and has now spent more than $165,000 in support of Republican Art Robinson, DeFazio\u2019s campaign said from Eugene.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, DeFazio went to the group\u2019s offices in D.C. to find out who is behind the ads.
