He is so honored for ignoring the Constitution to rule based in Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian hate and homophobia.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"0918Maloney\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"0918Maloney\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/0918Maloney.jpg\" width=\"300\" align=\"left\" height=\"450\" \/>In what can charitably be described as an idiosyncratic reading of the First Amendment, a George W. Bush-appointed federal judge in western Michigan held that <strong>businesses can discriminate against LGBTQ customers so long as they explain why they did so on Facebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Judge Paul Maloney\u2019s Friday opinion in <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/country-mill-preliminary-injunction.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Country Mill Farms v. City of East Lansing<\/a>, it was well understood that the First Amendment <a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/scholar_case?case=13855794774127926991&amp;hl=en&amp;as_sdt=6&amp;as_vis=1&amp;oi=scholarr\" target=\"_blank\">does not protect business owners<\/a> who post signs announcing \u201cblacks need not apply\u201d or \u201cwe don\u2019t serve women here.\u201d As the Supreme Court once explained in a related case, \u201cdiscrimination in employment is not only commercial activity, it is illegal commercial activity,\u201d and \u201cwe have no doubt that a newspaper constitutionally could be forbidden to publish a want ad proposing a sale of narcotics or soliciting prostitutes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet Judge Maloney\u2019s opinion does not simply disregard this longstanding rule, it suggests that <strong>a business that is actively engaged in discrimination can immunize itself from the law simply by writing about its discrimination on Facebook<\/strong>&#8230; [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/judge-says-businesses-can-discriminate-so-long-as-they-write-about-it-on-facebook-61299ff78554\/\" target=\"_blank\">Think Progress<\/a>&gt; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">The notion that, if Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians, the exact opposite of real Christians, should spew the evidence of their crimes on Sphincterbook, let alone that doing so makes it legal, is so absurd that only a Republican could do such a thing.<\/font><\/p>\n<h1 align=\"center\"><font style=\"font-weight: bold\" color=\"#0000ff\">RESIST THE REPUBLICAN REICH!!<\/font><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is the ninety-sixth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become.
