Noting that Miller had previously claimed that <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.abcnews.com\/thenote\/2010\/07\/alaska-senate-candidate-miller-unemployment-benefits-not-constitutionally-authorized.html\" target=\"_blank\">unemployment benefits were unconstitutional<\/a> Wallace asked, \u201cwithout unemployment benefits, a lot more, millions more would be living in poverty \u2014 <strong><font color=\"#ff0000\">what would you do for them<\/font><\/strong>?\u201d Miller initially ducked the question, but when Wallace persisted, Miller accused Americans of suffering from an \u201centitlement mentality\u201d and argued that providing unemployment benefits was not among Congress\u2019 enumerated powers:&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;Watch it:<\/p>\n<p>   <object width=\"500\" height=\"405\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/tJzxWKQBOLo?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/tJzxWKQBOLo?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"500\" height=\"405\"><\/embed><\/object>    <\/p>\n<p>Miller\u2019s radical tenther views aside, unemployment benefits have become essential in today\u2019s economic climate and have kept millions of American families out of poverty\u2026 [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2010\/09\/19\/miller-ui-poverty\/\" target=\"_blank\">Think Progress<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Miller could not even handle the softball questions from the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda.&#160; He did not answer what he would do for millions of unemployed Americans, because the answer is <strong>nothing<\/strong>.&#160; The Republican Party opposes unemployment benefits.&#160; In the Senate, they blocked the extension for weeks.&#160; In the House, they consistently vote against help for those whose jobs were lost through Republican misgovernment.&#160; They do not govern on behalf of such people.&#160; They govern exclusively for criminal corporations and the richest 1%.&#160; That\u2019s why they hate such expenditures:<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><strong>Every penny Democrats spend on a Main Street American is a penny Republicans can\u2019t spend on a millionaire.<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While Joe Miller may be slightly more extreme in his views than the average Republican, he goose steps in lock step with the rest when it comes to solutions.
