While most of us were not fully satisfied with the Wall Street Reform, it could be far more relevant with a strong consumer advocate, like Warren, heading the CFPB.&#160; Then Obama could honestly say that the reform will do something for Tin Pan Alley and Main Street.&#160; Easy Street got way too much from the Bush Wall Street bailout.&#160; It appears, Obama may be moving to do just this.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/11Warren.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 10px 5px 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"11Warren\" border=\"0\" alt=\"11Warren\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/11Warren_thumb.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"243\" \/><\/a> President Obama signaled on Friday that he was close to choosing a director for a new consumer bureau, but an array of top jobs that will be crucial to shaping economic policy and financial regulation for the rest of his term remain unfilled. <\/p>\n<p>At a White House news conference, <strong>Mr. Obama praised Elizabeth Warren<\/strong>, the Harvard law professor who was the chief proponent of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and is a front-runner to lead it. <strong>Calling her \u201ca dear friend\u201d and a \u201ctremendous advocate\u201d for the new agency, the president said he had talked with her but added, \u201cI\u2019m not going to make an official announcement until it\u2019s ready.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Warren is considered a foe of Wall Street but a favorite of liberals<\/strong>. <strong>If she were nominated to the post it could set off a partisan brawl similar to the battles that nearly swamped the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul law Mr. Obama signed in July, which created the bureau<\/strong>\u2026 [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/09\/11\/business\/economy\/11empty.html\" target=\"_blank\">NY Times<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">In case you\u2019ve forgotten what we can expect from her, watch Timmy the Tool squirm under her laser sharp interrogation.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><object width=\"500\" height=\"405\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/pz7ruJw6byQ?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/pz7ruJw6byQ?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6&amp;border=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"500\" height=\"405\"><\/embed><\/object><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Now the author of the article seems to think that setting off a partisan brawl might be a bad thing.&#160; I could not disagree more.&#160; First, the Republicans started the partisan brawl the day Obama took office and have continued it without letup since.&#160; Second, this is a fight we can\u2019t afford to miss.&#160;
