Packwood here in Oregon years ago and was happy with him.&#160; Sadly, he put the GOP grope on too many ladies and became Sen. Pokewood.&#160; How things have changed!&#160; Today\u2019s Republicans lie when it doesn\u2019t even matter.&#160; They have forgotten the meaning of truth.&#160; So when a Republican politician actually tells the truth about something, it\u2019s cause for celebration.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/4hagel.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 10px 5px 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"4hagel\" border=\"0\" alt=\"4hagel\" align=\"left\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/4hagel_thumb.jpg\" width=\"176\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a> Former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), the chairman of the Atlantic Council, recently sat down for an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washdiplomat.com\/September%202010\/a1_09_10.html\" target=\"_blank\">interview<\/a> with the Washington Diplomat. In the interview, the former senator touched on a variety of topics, including what he feels is the need for the United States to \u201cunwind\u201d from the war in Afghanistan. Towards the end of the interview, Hagel says that while he has \u201cno plans to renounce his membership in the party,\u201d he finds that the Republican Party of which he is a part is not \u201cpresenting any new alternatives, any new options, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acus.org\/highlight\/senator-hagel-interview-hagel-may-have-left-senate-behind-not-his-candor-about-politics\" target=\"_blank\">any new thinking<\/a>\u201c:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">\u201cI don\u2019t see them presenting any alternatives, any new options or any new thinking,\u201d <\/span>Hagel said. \u201cIf the Republicans get back in power, what are they going to do? There is no articulation.<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> It\u2019s just a \u2018no no no, I\u2019m against Obama because he\u2019s a socialist and he\u2019s taking America in the wrong direction.\u2019<\/span> That\u2019s certainly an opinion, but what about you, Mr. Republican?
