Richard Nixon fired Attorney General Elliot Richardson, and then fired Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus, because they refused to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox.&nbsp; Nixon then ordered the infamous Robert Bork, Solicitor General, to fire Cox, and he did to squelch the investigation into a third rate burglary.&nbsp;&nbsp; On Friday, Donald Trump ordered the firing of FBI director, James Comey, to squelch the investigation into election theft and treason.&nbsp; Most Republicans seem to support this crime.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"94162176\" border=\"0\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/0510comey-trump.jpg\" style=\"border-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; float: none; display: block; background-image: none;\" title=\"94162176\" width=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, on Wednesday defended President Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/05\/09\/us\/politics\/james-comey-fired-fbi.html\" target=\"_blank\">firing of the director of the F.B.I.<\/a>, James B. Comey, resisting Democratic calls to challenge the president and support a broader inquiry of Russian interference in the election.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Today we&rsquo;ll no doubt hear calls for a new investigation,&rdquo; Mr. McConnell said on the Senate floor, &ldquo;which can only serve to impede the current work being done.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, frontally questioned Mr. Trump&rsquo;s stated rationale for dismissing Mr. Comey and renewed a call for the Justice Department to appoint a special prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>Since the day Mr. Trump was elected, a prevailing theory was that congressional Republicans, especially in the Senate, would be a check and balance on his potential excesses and missteps.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. McConnell has largely avoided that test&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">From &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/05\/10\/us\/politics\/comey-trump-mcconnell-schumer.html\" target=\"_blank\">NY Times<\/a>&gt;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Now I&#39;ll be the first to admit that Comey was very high on my shit list for the way he publicized the unfounded Clinton scandal and kept quiet about the dire threat that Trump&#39;s Russia contacts represent, and his treatment of Hillary is the so-called reason Comey was fired.&nbsp; Bullshit!&nbsp; Trump loved Comey until it became apparent that the FBI is actively investigating Trump.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">I&#39;ll start video coverage with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow-show\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Maddow<\/a>, because she sets it up so well.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"500\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/player.theplatform.com\/p\/7wvmTC\/MSNBCEmbeddedOffSite?guid=n_maddow_atimeline_170509\" width=\"635\"><\/iframe><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/the-last-word\" target=\"_blank\">Lawrence O&#39;Donnell<\/a> discussed the need for Republicans to put country before party.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"500\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/player.theplatform.com\/p\/7wvmTC\/MSNBCEmbeddedOffSite?guid=n_lw_huckabeesanders_170509\" width=\"635\"><\/iframe><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">I&#39;m not the only one to be calling Bullshit.&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/all\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Hayes<\/a> interviewed Elizabeth Warren.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"500\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"http:\/\/player.theplatform.com\/p\/7wvmTC\/MSNBCEmbeddedOffSite?guid=n_lw_huckabeesanders_170509\" width=\"635\"><\/iframe><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Very few Republicans are even making noise about this.&nbsp; I fear that the only way we can get a proper investigation is to take back the House and Senate in 2018.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 0, 0);\">Correction:&nbsp; I changed the Title to the correct day.&nbsp; My Bad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 align=\"center\"><font color=\"#0000ff\"><font style=\"font-weight: bold;\">RESIST!!<\/font><\/font><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I trust you have all heard of the Saturday Night Massacre that took place on October 20, 1973, when Republican criminal.
