Tax Cuts for the Rich!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Republican Congressman Mike Pence proved once again that the GOP only has one plan for the economy: <strong><em>No Millionaire Left Behind<\/em><\/strong>!<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/26pence.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 0px 5px 10px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"26pence\" border=\"0\" alt=\"26pence\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/26pence_thumb.jpg\" width=\"188\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a> Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) went on Fox News last night to back up House Minority Leader John Boehner\u2019s (R-OH) over-the-top call for President Obama to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/08\/24\/AR2010082401483.html\" target=\"_blank\">sack his entire economic team<\/a>, including Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and top adviser Larry Summers. \u201cThe President ought to ask for and accept the resignation of the Secretary of the Treasury and Larry Summers, and he ought to bring a new team,\u201d Pence said. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\">But beyond that, Pence, like the rest of his GOP colleagues, didn\u2019t offer any ideas of his own that would help the ailing economy. When host Greta Van Susteren asked what, besides tax cuts, he would do to turn the economy around, Pence at first dodged, but then said tax cuts for the rich would be the way to go [Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda delinked]: <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\">VAN SUSTEREN: What \u2014 besides the sort of the usual \u2014 the \u2014 you know, the tax program, extending the Bush tax cuts that I know the Republican Party want, what is it that you could do to turn it around? <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; font-family: calibri; font-size: 11pt\">PENCE: Yes, look, the enemy of our prosperity is uncertainty. \u2026 the greatest uncertainty right now is \u2014 and you just heard \u2014 you heard the Vice President again kind of defend it in passing, their tax cuts \u2014 their tax increases on the rich \u2014 is <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">this administration actually thinks that it would be a good idea to allow a tax increase on job creators on January 1st, 2011. In fact, the evidence suggests that if the GOP got their tax cuts for the rich, the economy could get worse. After the Bush tax cuts were enacted, the country \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanprogress.org\/issues\/2009\/02\/pdf\/picker_jobs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">registered the weakest jobs and income growth<\/a> in the post-war period.\u201d\u2026 [<em>emphasis original<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2010\/08\/25\/pence-tax-cuts\/\">Think Progress<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Even in the soft-ball atmosphere of the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, <em>Faux Noise<\/em>, Pence was unable to come up with one more thing.&#160; As much as pundits say that Democrats can\u2019t run against the past, they fail to point out that the past is the only future the Republican Party offers.&#160; We know where eight years of <strong><em>No Millionaire Left Behind<\/em><\/strong> took this country.&#160; For that reason:<\/font><\/p>\n<h6 align=\"center\"><strong><font color=\"#0000ff\">Every Republican in office is one Republican too many.<\/font><\/strong><\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican Congressman Mike Pence proved once again that the GOP only has one plan for the economy: No Millionaire Left Behind!
