{"id":26548,"date":"2017-03-03T10:45:21","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T18:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=26548"},"modified":"2017-03-03T10:45:21","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T18:45:21","slug":"beauregard-on-the-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2017\/03\/03\/beauregard-on-the-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Beauregard on the Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">In one of the few stories that we would classify as good news,&#160; KKK Beauregard, the racist, misogynistic, homophobic, pseudo-Christian bigot that Fuhrer Drumphenfarten appointed as AG, had been caught red handed committing perjury in his Senate confirmation hearing.&#160; Although he should resign immediate in the hope of evading charges, he has opted to recuse himself from matters pertaining to Russian interference in our election and contacts between the Trump campaign and Russian officials in a desperate attempt to cling to power.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"0303sessions-kislyak\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; margin-right: auto\" border=\"0\" alt=\"0303sessions-kislyak\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/0303sessions-kislyak.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that he will recuse himself from investigations related to the 2016 presidential campaign, which would include any Russian interference in the electoral process.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a hastily called news conference at the Justice Department, Sessions said he was following the recommendation of department ethics officials after an evaluation of the rules and cases in which he might have a conflict. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said that since I had involvement with the campaign, I should not be involved in any campaign investigation,\u201d Sessions said. He added that he concurred with their assessment and would thus recuse himself from any existing or future investigation involving President Trump\u2019s 2016 campaign. <\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes a day after The Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/sessions-spoke-twice-with-russian-ambassador-during-trumps-presidential-campaign-justice-officials-say\/2017\/03\/01\/77205eda-feac-11e6-99b4-9e613afeb09f_story.html?utm_term=.82f3f982624e\" target=\"_blank\">revealed<\/a> that <strong>Sessions twice met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the campaign and did not disclose that to the Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearing in January<\/strong>&#8230; [<em>emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">From &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/powerpost\/top-gop-lawmaker-calls-on-sessions-to-recuse-himself-from-russia-investigation\/2017\/03\/02\/148c07ac-ff46-11e6-8ebe-6e0dbe4f2bca_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Post<\/a>&gt;<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Beauregard did more than fail to disclose the contacts.&#160; He lied under oath and said there were no contacts.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"0303sessions\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"0303sessions\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/0303sessions.jpg\" width=\"360\" align=\"left\" height=\"401\" \/>Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Friday morning that Attorney General Jeff Session\u2019s explanations of why he didn\u2019t disclose two meetings with the Russian ambassador to the Senate are \u201cnot credible.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don&#8217;t, I think, treat a visit in your office by the Russian ambassador as something casual, something not memorable,\u201d Schiff said on MSNBC\u2019s Morning Joe. \u201cAnd when you&#8217;re asked about your contacts with Russians in the senate, that should have been disclosed. I think he knew it should have been disclosed.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Sessions met twice with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in 2016 but said he \u201cdid not have communications with the Russians\u201d during his confirmation hearing.
