Here it is in a nutshell.  The FBI had all the dirt on Trump, including his golden showers and other perversions, bribes, money laundering collusion with the GRU to interfere in our election on his behalf and everything else in the dossier that just surfaced, and the FBI was actively investigating this material way back last summer.  At that time, Comey blasted Hillary Clinton for carelessness, even though the FBI found no criminal violations.  Then in October Comey made an 11th hour announcement of a new criminal investigation into Clinton.  The allegations proved to be bogus immediately, but the damage had been done.  And in all this time he did not whisper a peep about the investigation into far more serious crimes by Trump.  In my view, that double standard prompted the following.<\/font><\/p>\n

A number of House Democrats left Friday’s confidential briefing on Russian hacking fuming over the actions of FBI Director James Comey and convinced he’s unfit to lead the agency.<\/p>\n

"I was nonjudgmental until the last 15 minutes. I no longer have that confidence in him," Rep. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), ranking member of the Veterans Affairs Committee, said as he left the meeting in the Capitol.<\/p>\n

"Some of the things that were revealed in this classified briefing \u2014 my confidence has been shook."<\/p>\n

Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), senior Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, delivered a similar condemnation.<\/p>\n

"I’m extremely concerned \u2014 extremely," he said.<\/p>\n

"I’ll just \u2014 I’m very angry," echoed Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.).<\/p>\n

The intelligence community believes Russia hacked Democratic groups in an effort to help elect President-elect Donald Trump, claims Trump had publicly cast doubt on before this week.<\/p>\n

Comey has been under fire since several weeks before the Nov. 8 elections, when he announced a new leg in an FBI investigation into the use of a private email server by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton \u2014 a probe that, as with the first round, resulted in no criminal charges. In response, many Democrats have accused Comey of altering the course of the presidential race in favor of Trump.<\/p>\n

Friday’s briefing, featuring Comey and the heads of the other top intelligence agencies, was classified, restricting the freedom of lawmakers to reveal details<\/strong>… [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I suspected the reason behind it, but Rachel Maddow<\/a> unraveled it.  I speculated that Steele, the former MI6 agent that compiled the dossier, was hiding out of fear of fatal retribution by Putin.  I’m not the only one who thinks so.<\/font><\/p>\n
