At last election day has come.  Last night I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 6:00 PM and did not get up until 5:00 AM.  If you are a US citizen, and haven't, please vote.  If you don't, Republican government is exactly what what you deserve.  Even a Trump voter rates more respect than you do.<\/font><\/p>\n

From The New Yorker<\/a>: <\/font>Delivering her closing argument of the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton has replaced her campaign slogan, “Stronger Together,” with a new one, “Won’t Blow Up Planet.”<\/p>\n

According to Clinton-campaign sources, the new slogan is designed to appeal to suburban women, a group of voters that has historically opposed blowing up the planet.<\/p>\n

Clinton launched the slogan at a campaign appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she told supporters, “On Day One of my Administration, I will work for you. I will fight for you. And I will not blow up the planet.”<\/p>\n

That's on-the-ball reporting, Andy. The distinction between the two candidates on that issue is clear.<\/font><\/p>\n

From NY Times<\/a>: <\/font>Hispanic voters were largely credited with President Obama’s victory in 2012, but they weren’t as crucial<\/a> as many believed. Mr. Obama didn’t even need to win the Hispanic vote to put him over the top, thanks to high black turnout and support among white voters in the North. The turnout among Hispanic voters didn’t surge, even though exit polls implied that it had.<\/p>\n

This year, Hispanic voters, perhaps motivated by Donald J. Trump’s policy proposals (including deportation) and harsh language aimed at undocumented Hispanic immigrants, really might decide this election.<\/p>\n

Early voting data unequivocally indicates that Hillary Clinton will benefit from a long awaited surge in Hispanic turnout, vastly exceeding the Hispanic turnout from four years ago.<\/p>\n

It’s too soon to say whether it will be decisive for her. The geographic distribution of Hispanic voters means that many of her gains will help her in noncompetitive states like Texas and California, not Michigan and Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

But the surge is real, and it’s big.<\/p>\n

I hope Republicans never learn that people will fight back when subjected to organized hatred and violence, because eventually, folks will realize that Republicans are subjecting them to such hatred unless they are wearing a &1,000+ suit, a sheet and hood, or a swastika.<\/font><\/p>\n
