Below you&#8217;ll find a brief list of terms you may use as a guide if you care to visit the swamps in which adherents to this 21st-century version of white supremacist ideology reside. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><span><strong><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">1. Alt-right.<\/font><\/strong><\/span><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> As Julie Andrews once sang before her character fled the Nazis: \u201cLet\u2019s start at the very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=k33ZQ4I4p24\" target=\"_blank\">beginning<\/a><\/font><\/font><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">.\u201d The term \u201calt-right\u201d is shorthand for &quot;alternative right.&quot; Just as, say, alt folk musicians envisioned themselves as a more modern, hipper iteration of the Dylan-era folk music that preceded them (which really wasn\u2019t folk music at all, but I digress), alt-righties perceive their movement to be the tweaked-for-millennial-consumption adaptation of the ideologies professed by such uncool paleoconservatives as Cranky Uncle Pat Buchanan and Klanboy David Duke.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">There are, however, disagreements among alt-righties on the scope of their hatred. The self-parodying Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos, for example, wears his gay identity as a badge, even as he spews vitriol against Muslims and blacks. Others who wear the alt-right label, such as the Daily Stormer\u2019s Andrew Anglin, spurn Yiannopoulos as a \u201cdegenerate.\u201d Yiannopoulos\u2019 latest badge of courage is being <\/font><\/font><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-intersect\/wp\/2016\/07\/21\/what-it-takes-to-get-banned-from-twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\">banned by Twitter<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"> for his racist dogging of actor\/comedian Leslie Jones, a star of the all-female reboot of <span><em>Ghostbusters<\/em><\/span>. (Since then, Jones\u2019 personal accounts have been hacked in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-intersect\/wp\/2016\/08\/24\/leslie-joness-website-goes-offline-after-reportedly-being-hacked\/?tid=hybrid_collaborative_1_na\" target=\"_blank\">brutal cyberattack<\/a><\/font><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">.)<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">One form of hatred that appears to unite alt-righties? Misogyny. Man, do they <\/font><\/font><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/6465\/what-do-trump-supporters-actually-think-women-pardes-seleh\" target=\"_blank\">hate feminists<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><font face=\"Arial\">! Yiannopoulos even did a lecture tour titled, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibtimes.co.uk\/generation-trump-meet-women-who-think-feminism-cancer-1562980\" target=\"_blank\">Feminism is cancer<\/a><\/font><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">.\u201d<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Gearing up a Twitter offensive in advance of Hillary Clinton\u2019s speech in Reno about the alt-right, #altright members on Twitter set out to define their own movement.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u201c<\/font><\/font><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AltRight?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\">#AltRight<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"> means you don&#8217;t think a room full of white males is a problem to be fixed,\u201d <\/font><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_AltRight_\/status\/768825127068762112\" target=\"_blank\">wrote @hateful_heritic<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: ; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in; line-height: normal\"><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u201c<\/font><\/font><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AltRightMeans?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\">#AltRightMeans<\/a><font color=\"#0066cc\" face=\"Arial\"><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial\"><font style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> it&#8217;s time to oppose HUD\/Section8 housing moving blacks into the suburbs. Save our White neighborhoods\u201d, added@_AltRight_, with an accompanying photo of a lone white man in a swimming pool, surrounded by dark-skinned people.Some posted Richard B.
