The the come that Bernie needs more delegates than the remaining states have, so the only way he can now win the nomination is to convince Superdelegates to switch.  That is not likely, because they are almost all either DNC members,who Bernie has sued, or Democratic Senators, Reps, and Governors.  Hillary has raised funds for all their reelections, while Bernie has done so for only four.  You may think I\u2019m saying Bernie has lost.  I know Bernie has won,  because he has moved the party to the left, and that even includes Hillary.<\/font><\/p>\n

For months during the Democratic presidential nominating contest, Hillary Clinton<\/a> has resisted calls from Senator Bernie Sanders<\/a> to back a single-payer health system, arguing that the fight for government-run health care was a wrenching legislative battle that had already been lost.<\/p>\n

But as she tries to clinch the nomination, Mrs. Clinton is moving to the left on health care and this week took a significant step in her opponent\u2019s direction, suggesting she would like to give people the option to buy into Medicare.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m also in favor of what\u2019s called the public option, so that people can buy into Medicare at a certain age,\u201d Mrs. Clinton said on Monday at a campaign event in Virginia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sanders calls his single-payer health care plan \u201cMedicare for all.\u201d<\/a> What Mrs. Clinton proposed was a sort of Medicare for more.<\/p>\n

The Medicare program covers Americans once they reach 65. Beneficiaries pay premiums to help cover the cost of their coverage, but the government pays the bulk of the bill. Mrs. Clinton\u2019s suggestion was that perhaps younger Americans, \u201cpeople 55 or 50 and up,\u201d could voluntarily pay to join the program.<\/p>\n

She made the remarks as she continues to face a determined challenge on the left from Mr. Sanders, forcing her to essentially fight a two-front war as she seeks to turn her attention to Donald J. Trump and the general election. While Mr. Sanders trails by a substantial number of delegates, his effect continues to be felt in the race as he pressures Mrs. Clinton to adopt more progressive positions<\/strong>\u2026 [emphasis added<\/em>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
