Today\u2019s honoree is Texas State Boards of Education candidate, Mary Lou Bruner. She is so honored for her Republican conspiracy theories and for her Republican hatred of Obama, Democrats, Muslims, the UN and LGBT folks.<\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"RepublicansOnParade2\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; margin-right: auto\" border=\"0\" alt=\"RepublicansOnParade2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RepublicansOnParade2.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Super Tuesday, Dale Clark voted for a local Republican who claimed on social media that President Obama had worked as a gay prostitute in his youth, that the United States should ban Islam, that the Democratic Party had John F. Kennedy killed and that the United Nations had hatched a plot to depopulate the world.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"0313Bruner\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"0313Bruner\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/0313Bruner.jpg\" width=\"360\" align=\"left\" height=\"380\" \/>Mr. Clark, 75, was unaware that the candidate he had supported \u2014 Mary Lou Bruner, 68, a former kindergarten teacher running for a seat on the State Board of Education \u2014 held such views. But as he sat with his wife eating lunch in this East Texas city, Mr. Clark was ready to give Ms. Bruner the benefit of the doubt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would not discount her on the basis of having those beliefs,\u201d said Mr. Clark, a retired pilot. \u201cIt convinces me, though, that she\u2019s quite conservative, and if I were going to err either way, I would want to err toward the side of the conservative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Bruner\u2019s anti-Obama, anti-Islam, anti-evolution and anti-gay Facebook posts have generated national headlines and turned an obscure school board election into a glimpse of the outer limits of Texas politics. In a part of the state dominated by conservative Christians and Tea Party activists, Ms. Bruner\u2019s candidacy has posed a question no one can answer with any certainty \u2014 how far to the fringe is too far for Texas Republicans?\u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Inserted from &lt;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/03\/13\/us\/politics\/a-texas-candidate-mary-lou-bruner-pushes-the-boundary-of-the-far-right.html\" target=\"_blank\">NY Times<\/a>&gt;<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">It\u2019s hard to get more Republican than she is.&#160; She hasn\u2019t been elected yet.&#160; I hope that exposing her views might help keep her out of office.
