{"id":15893,"date":"2015-08-22T06:59:51","date_gmt":"2015-08-22T13:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/?p=15893"},"modified":"2015-08-22T06:59:51","modified_gmt":"2015-08-22T13:59:51","slug":"personal-update8222015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.politicsplus.org\/blog\/2015\/08\/22\/personal-update8222015\/","title":{"rendered":"Personal Update&ndash;8\/22\/2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Yesterday, at about 8:00 PM, I received a call from my volunteer group&#8217;s staff advisor.&#160; Apparently someone noticed my distress on my last trip when the temperature was 100\u00b0+.&#160; She told me that the prison volunteer board has decided to cancel my authorization to come into the prison, out of what they say is concern for my health.&#160; What they mean is fear that they could be held liable should I suffer a heart attack or a stroke while there.&#160; I\u2019ll appeal it to the head of volunteer services, but since my guys have already been informed that I won\u2019t be coming back, I\u2019m pretty sure it\u2019s a done deal.&#160; I feel completely devastated, because so much of my reason for being is wrapped up in my work with my guys.&#160; I\u2019ve been up all night, too upset to sleep.&#160; So I need to take a day or two off, while I try to wrap my head around this most unwelcome change.
