This, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gallup.com\/poll\/182987\/americans-continue-say-wealth-distribution-unfair.aspx?utm_source=alert&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=morelink&amp;utm_campaign=syndication\" target=\"_blank\">according to Gallup<\/a>, is a relatively new phenomenon, with a clear preference for soaking the rich really only emerging in the past four or five years:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"0505Gallup\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; margin-right: auto\" border=\"0\" alt=\"0505Gallup\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/0505Gallup.png\" width=\"596\" height=\"331\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On a different polling measure, Gallup finds that at least since the mid-1980s a large majority of Americans have expressed a preference for a flatter distribution of income. But that&#8217;s something that could, at least hypothetically, be achieved in a whole variety of ways.
