The act sought to achieve Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s dream of equality by improving federal dollars to states to support the educational needs of disadvantaged students. In the decades since, the federal government has worked \u2014 despite state resistance \u2014 to increase equity and expand opportunity for disadvantaged students. <\/p>\n<p>But today, students\u2019 right to a high-quality education is threatened. <\/p>\n<p>Senator Alexander, the Chairman of the Senate HELP Committee, wants to destroy the federal government\u2019s ability to protect students\u2019 right to a high-quality education. His recently released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.help.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/AEG15033.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">proposal<\/a> to reauthorize ESEA, the country\u2019s most important education law, will unapologetically eliminate states\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/arne-duncan-a-quality-education-is-not-optional\/2015\/01\/16\/ac8ad214-9ce6-11e4-bcfb-059ec7a93ddc_story.html?wpisrc=nl_opinions&amp;wpmm=1\">obligation<\/a> to close race-based achievement gaps and to improve the quality of education afforded students of color. <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">Republicans are not racist, the Pope is not Catholic, and bears never, ever shit in the woods!<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/rs\/2015\/01\/crude-oil-spills-in-yellowstone-river-after-pipeline-leak\/\" target=\"_blank\">Raw Story<\/a>: <\/font>[C]rews worked on Monday to clean up crude oil that spilled in and near the Yellowstone River in eastern Montana even as Bridger Pipeline LLC tried to determine what caused the weekend breach, the Wall Street Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p>The release of crude oil from Bridger\u2019s Poplar Pipeline system near Glendive, Montana began on Saturday morning, the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">In my 20s I fished that river many times.
