That&#8217;s a thousand trillion dollars, about ten times greater than the&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_economy\" target=\"_blank\">world economy<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>With the&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/company\/files\/CME_Fee_Schedule.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">collection<\/a> of transfer fees, contract fees, brokerage fees, Globex fees, clearing fees, and surcharges, the company achieved a&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.payupnow.org\/ProfitMargins.xls\" target=\"_blank\">profit margin<\/a> (54%) higher than any of the top 100 companies in the nation from 2008 to 2010, and in the past three years it&#8217;s risen to&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1156375\/000115637514000012\/cme-2013123110k.htm#s90DFA627B8AE93BA3B346C107A8CBDB0\" target=\"_blank\">nearly 60%<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Despite being the most profitable big firm, CME complained that its taxes were too high, and they demanded and received an&#160; <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.chicagotribune.com\/2011-12-16\/business\/chi-quinn-signs-searscme-tax-breaks-into-law-20111216_1_cme-and-cboe-sears-cme-employee-income-taxes\" target=\"_blank\">$85 million tax break<\/a> from the State of Illinois.&#160; <\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">This is just one of the seven biggest corporate rip offs of this year.
