Holder<\/em> is a worse decision than <em>Citizens United<\/em>, because it will make it easier for red states to disenfranchise legal voters.&#160; They pretended that this is a compromise, but it is not.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto\" title=\"SCROTUS\" alt=\"SCROTUS\" src=\"https:\/\/www.7thstep.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/SCROTUS1.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"329\" \/><\/font><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court has ruled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/about\/vot\/misc\/sec_4.php\" target=\"_blank\">Section 4 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act<\/a> unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSection 4\u2019s formula is unconstitutional in light of current conditions,\u201d Chief Justice John Roberts wrote. \u201cCoverage today is based on decades-old data and eradicated practices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Court did not issue a holding on Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.
