Today I’m going to go with the low-hanging fruit – especially since there’s such an abundant crop to pick!  Most will slant humorous, but a few have a serious message.

We all got a chuckle when Ted Cruz was pilloried for his flight to Cancún during the winter storm that ravaged Texas.  Ted had to slink back home with his tail tucked between his legs – but sporting a brand new hairdo!

Gov. Abbott rightfully earned FOUR Pinocchios for his mendacious claim that frozen wind turbines were the cause of Texas’ travails.

On a serious note, the question we face as a nation is this:  Can a country survive if it bases its decisions on lies?

Of course, we all realize that there is more than one side to any issue.  But republicans never seem to find a side that has even a kernel of truth to it.

I mean, doesn’t it seem odd how wind turbines “froze” in Texas – but did just fine in frigid Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Norway?

Texas Republicans: “I’ll vote for Democrats when hell freezes over”

Mother Nature: “Deal!”

Twitter had a few observations of the Cruz Cancún fiasco:

How about closing the fun part with a lively song:

And on another serious note, Julián Castro had a fantastic Spot-On “Take Home” Message valid at any time – but particularly when a city, state or nation is faced with a crisis:

“Don’t ever put people in charge of government who don’t believe in government.”

A huge “THANK YOU!” to Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré for calling Josh Hawley a “Little Piece Of Sh*t” which ran as a chyron on Tfucker (the “T” is silent) Carlson’s show while Hawley was speaking.

“This little piece of sh*t with his Yale law degree should be run out of DC and Disbarred ASAP,” Honoré wrote of Hawley in a since-deleted tweet on Jan. 12.

Last and always least, MTG Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to block the Equality Act with language that was (while certainly in character for Greene) particularly vile and hurtful to Rep. Marie Newman whose daughter is transgender.

So Rep. Newman did what any proud mother would do – supported her daughter.

Being the petty little _____ (fill-in the blank with your own X-rated epithet), MTG tried to retaliate using her faux “christianity” …

But Twitter was having none of it!

(To understand a few of these, you should know that MTG openly and knowingly cheated on her husband with a tantric sex cult guru and at least one other male at the same time, and numerous times.)

SORRY – I don’t know how to get rid of the lead “Blank” source Tweet

I was inspired to create my own sign, but since I don’t belong to Twitter I’ll have to be content to post it here.

So while I’ve lost a great source for mocking (ByeDon!), it looks like Cruz, Hawley and Greene will be picking up the slack!

  1. Can’t stand or listen to Abbott, Hawley, Cruz, Cornyn, and MTG for that matter. ugh.  They do nothing if it doesn’t help themselves… and financially. They all lie so well too. They should all resign, imho.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tweets/pictures too. Hilarious!!!

    Well done, Nameless, Thank you!

  2. Where is “Paul Ryan” (the one from the Medicare ad) when you need him to deal with Greg Abbott?

I got a jolt looking at cruz dressed as Marie Antoinette because it reminded me so strongly of Placido Domingo.  But I calmed down when I realized it was mostly because his character in the last opera I saw him is was crazypants.

Josh Hawley wouldn’t be worth the time even to joke about him if he weren’t so potentially dangerous.

I loved and saved the chart you used on DK  to refute the real sign MTG posted.  She too wouldn’t be worth a second look if she weren’t dangerous.  She’s just the latest in a long, long line of soi-disant “Christians” who think they can tell God what to do.  God will do what God wants to do regardless.

    Thank you, dear Nameless.

    • Also, regarding “SORRY – I don’t know how to get rid of the lead “Blank” source Tweet” – I don’t think it can be done.  If it could, George Takei would figure it out and have people do it in the articles on his many websites, and that isn’t happening. And I see chains there considerably longer than your chain. Don’t sweat it.

  3. Thanks for the laugh and the frown, Nameless. There must have gone a lot of work into putting both of them up but it is well worth your effort.

  4. Thanks  Nameless! 02  No 26.

  5. Thanks Nameless–you added another element, if investigated, could get Greene expelled from Congress to add to her good friend who stormed the capitol according to the federal investigators.
And I’ll add that Cruz has a new FEC investigation related to his PAC and expenditures that could have been intended to let him have royalties on his new book the transactions being examined might have been to buy to inflate sales, etc.

  6. Cruz should consider one of the new hair-dos you showed, they would be an improvement….MTG might call herself a Christian, but she clearly doesn’t follow Jesus…..liked the twitter responses

  7. I debated for a long time what to do with this comment … I didn’t want to approve it with what is almost certainly a fake email address, but the parody is so rich I didn’t want to lose it either.

I finally decided to just quote it and then send it to spam.

It purports to be from “margie greene” and it says:

I CAN TOO arrange a bag of M&Ms. It’s all the M’s followed by all the W’s.
    Love,
    Marge

    • Thanks!  Those were my thoughts, too.  But it’s probably not easy getting a xxx.gov address.
From my VERY cursory look, it does NOT appear to be MTG.

      • I don’t know whether WordPress validates the actual address or just the form. The address was in a valid form, but I could not find that the domain even existed, and I do have my own rep’s official address, and that is not the domain he uses. I agree it’s not MTG; I doubt she’s smart enough, and I’m positive whe can’t laugh at herself. If it was one of our regulars, I hope the person will “fess up” -He or she would be a great source.

        • Amen!  I honestly chuckled at his/her email reply.
Come out – Come out – Whoever you are!

        • I’m groggy too this morning and accidentally deleted TC’s reply.  He did see it, was going to deal with it, and forgot (understandable.)  He mentioned he validates to see whether the email address is real with an online provider – which I did in a two step process (lookd for the domain, which didn’t exist, and compared it with my own Congressman’s dot gov address, which is quite different.

          • When you deleted my reply, that flagged me as a spammer for future comments.  I undeleted it to restore my ability to comment. 13

    • I was going to deal with it, but I forgot.  I came back to find JD had already rejected it.  For future reference, I check the address with an online email verifier to decide.  That case was obvious: a pepublican who needs to mind her p’s and Q’s. 33

  8. It’s despicable to see the direction these rotten GOP members have gone. They’ve turned away from their duties of serving the people. Thanks to the fool we had in office for the previous four years, they’ve become even more vicious.
Your images of cRuz and gReene are hilarious. They both should be booted out of their political positions…that goes for hAwley too.
Thanks Nameless for the funny post.
