Since my birth, I have opposed almost all of America’s wars. However, I equally believe that it is our responsibility and privilege to love, honor, and care for our troops because we owe them such a major debt of gratitude. Politicians who lie to our troops do not respect them. Such people are manipulating them to treat them as cannon fodder. Rep Adam Smith [D-WA] knows this.
The incoming head of the House Armed Services Committee has called out Donald Trump, giving the president a taste of what he’s in for with a new Democratic majority.
“Constant misinformation from the president is a real problem in a democratic society, and we in Congress have got to do our best to hold him accountable,” warned Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), who’s taking over leadership of the committee in January.
Earlier this month, Smith vowed that the committee would no longer allow Trump’s falsehoods to go unchallenged, The Stars and Stripes reported.
Just this week Trump claimed that he had personally boosted military pay by 10 percent in the troops’ first raise in 10 years. In fact, the military was given a 2.6 percent raise and has received wage hikes each year for the past 30 years… [emphasis added]

When Democrats passed annual raises for our troops, they did so over Republican opposition.
Don Lemon on CNN called out Trump for this and other lies to our troops.
Furthermore, the doctor that diagnosed Trump’s bone spurs lied.
In short Democrats try to take care of our troops out of respect. Republicans just use them as cannon fodder.

That’s just like the Orange Ogre to take credit for something he didn’t do. Typical of both tyrants and spoiled brats.
I too am anti-war, but still honor those who fight. All too often they get the shaft, while defense contractor fat cats get the gold mine.

dt is doing everything to upheave, malign, and obfuscate the facts, nor tell/say the truth in everything that he says and does to the American people, and to our troops, serving stateside, or abroad.
He’s not a president, he’s a disgrace, and absolute disgrace.
I also am opposed to war in general. I am also opposed in general to people cutting each other with sharp instruments. But then, there are surgeons (a team of whom just removed some very nasty stuff from the lungs of RBG.)
Unfortunately, Americans do not have a history of pushing or opposing wars with surgical precision. All the more reason we need to elect and install people in positions involving oversight of the military who will consider such things as whether we have been attacked (as a nation – not “He tried to kill my daddy), whether one of our allies has been attacked (and what we owe to that ally), what the potential is for innocent non-combatants suffering, and how to minimize that suffering – and a number of other things, but just those three would give us a whole lot better start than we have now.
What a POS, instead of offering words of positivity to the troops he self promotes with lies… AGAIN!!!

Come on, guys…of course Drumpf lied to the troops. He didn’t go to visit the troops overseas to boost the morale and show them appreciation, he just went to another one of his rallies to pick up a few more votes, hear himself talk, i.e. lie, and bask in their glory. Rallying, as in self-promoting, is the only thing Drumpf knows how to do. And when hasn’t he lied during a rally?
I have always been one against wars, but like you I agree we owe respect to the troops that have given so much for our country. Watching our crazy leader and certain members of his cabinet, belittle or lie to them is truly disrespectful and unacceptable in my eyes.
But as we all know, tRump only speaks lies each and every time he opens his mouth. So I feel the military members are smart enough to know that fact by now. Especially when there higher ranking ones are walking out on tRump.
As I read and watched, all I could think is if I were among the troops, I would refuse to shake his hand and certainly would not take a selfie!!!!!!!!!!
He is the Liar-in-Chief without doubt!
The only word I heard come out of his mouth was “ME”!
