Dec 152018

This is the first time I’ve been half able to post since I moved.  The place is 2/3 of what I had, and I have to sit sideways to the keyboard, which tips away from me, because the movers broke the keyboard stand on my desk.  They also broke my computer, and repairing it cost me $239.  Building staff are repairing the handicapped shower, so I’m taking whores’ baths in the sink.  I’ve moved a few dozen times in my life, including across the country.  This one has been far and away the worst.  Tomorrow, please expect no more than a Personal Update.  It’s a WWWendy day, and I’ll be busy.  Great job, Staff!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:47 (average 4:48).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Parody Project Channel): GREEN TIDE – Parody

I agree. It’s time for the new Democrats. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Jeff Merkley Channel): Senator Jeff Merkley on New Day

I’m proud of my Senator.  Oregon leads the way!  The Republican plan is ugly. If the children are not white, killing them is OK. RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: How to Hold Corporations Accountable

The Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. I’m not surprised Elizabeth Warren is behind this. Stop the Reich on the right, the Republican Reich! RESIST!!

  1. Welcome back Puddy Tat!

Please note that Squatch will also have an OT out shortly!

  2. PPC: Good song, with a great message! Bravo!

Jeff M: The border debacle must stop! Bring back the Family Case Management Program to help, and not hinder these folks coming across the border. NO wall !!! WTG, Mr. Merkley!

RR: Ms. Warren’s ‘Accountable Capitalism Act’ sounds great, and RR’s explanation of it sounds good too!

    Cartoon: Awwwww!!

I’m so glad to see you back, TC!!! I’m so sorry for your troubles though. Losing precious living space is not good either, and I hope that they get the shower fixed quickly for your needs too. Hope that things get better for you too. Take good care, Tom, and Thanks!

    • oops! This just in: “When we must mourn the loss of a migrant child on the anniversary of a school massacre, we’ve lost our soul as a nation.” ~ American NX ~

  3. Koi 5:24 Very fishy.

How great to see you back – but what a chapter of horrors. We knew you were a survivor – they didn’t need to make you prove it again!

The Other PP – Well, after a blue wave, I’ll take a green tide. There’s a petition to put AO-C onto the Ways and Means Committee. It has many sponsors. Here’s the one from Credo.

Jeff – This broke my heart. Gabe Ortiz at Daily Kos did the best rundown of it that I saw. I’m not a bit surprised that Jeff is on it and on the entire issue. There is no fricking reason to separate families at the border. “When you have a program that works perfectly well” – that’s a signal to the Trump regime to destroy it.

Reich – “In the 1980’s.” Yes, That was Reagan and “trickle-down” economics – it certainly was obvious to anyone on the left from the beginning what that “trickle” comprised. Was ANYONE ever fooled? Yeah, thank heaven for Warren, and thanks to RR for promoting her.

    Cartoon – HOORAY !!!

  4. WELCOME BACK!
PPC: Good tune. I signed the petition that Joanne listed:68% We’ve reached 51,329 of our goal of 75,000.
Jeff: Saddens me that this little girl suffered like she did. Even if they were illegally entering, there was no reason that this should of ever happened.
    RR: Warren…sounds good.
    Cartoon: Aww…so cute.

  5. 3:34 (average 4:48) You’ll have to contend yurself with fish sticks, TomCat.

Good to see you back, but sorry about the terrible move and the Neanderthals who executed it. Aren’t they liable for the things they break?

PP: All Democrats should take this wonderful parody to heart and listen to it at least once a day. Republicans should listen to it at east five times a day, but we all know they won’t even hear it once.

Jeff Merkley: You can’t let this administration out of your sight, not for one minute, and thank goodness Sen. Merkley doesn’t do that. Whenever things go bad for immigrants, he’s there to point it out and put an end to it. Kudos to you, Jeff!

Robert Reich: Sounds like a plan! Now get Democrats to push or it without letting it watered down into oblivion by Republicans.

    Welcome back, TomCat!

  6. Puzzle — 3:41  No fishie fricassée tonight Puddy Tat.  Here in Metro Vancouver at the Dr Sun Yat-sen Gardens, there is a large pond which contained about 15 large koi, one being the matriarch of the pond and 50 years old.  All but 2 adults including the matriarch were eaten by an errant river otter.  Attempts to trap the otter were unsuccessful and he disappeared when the remaining fish, 2 adults and some 348 babies, were rescued by draining the pond and transferring them to the Vancouver Aquarium until next spring.  This is a true fish tale!

Parody Project — Time for the new Democrats or the New Democrats?  I think our New Democrats might be too socialist for you lot south of the 49th!  Great parody!

Jeff Merkley — “The Republican plan is ugly. If the children are not white, killing them is OK.” — Yup!  Look also at the situation in Yemen which the US supports with its support of Saudi Arabia.  Like JD, I read an account of this child’s death yesterday.  Other than being appalled at her death, I was appalled at DHS saying her death was the fault of her father.  Don’t look for contrition or compassion from the Trump régime.  It does not exist!  Here is another case from Gabe Ortiz ofproposed family separation, only this time, it is not at the southern border but in Washington, DC.

Robert Reich — He says it all so succinctly and so accurately!

Cartoon — Welcome home Puddy Tat!  It just wasn’t the same without you!
