Stacey Abrams Reamed Brian Kemp

Last night there was a showdown between  the Democratic Candidate for the Georgia statehouse, Stacey Abrams, and her opponent, Republican expert at election theft through illegal voter suppression, Brian Kemp.  In my opinion, Stacey bent him over and gave him a Saguaro cactus suppository.  But don’t take my word for it.  See it yourself.

Charges of voter suppression and counterclaims of encouraging illegal voting dominated the first debate between Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp in the race for Georgia governor.

Disputes over voting access took center stage at Tuesday evening’s debate, highlighting Abrams’ historic bid to become the first black female governor in American history and the long-simmering politics of race in the Deep South. Kemp, who is white, continued to fend off charges that he’s using his position as Georgia secretary of state to make it harder for minority voters to cast ballots.

Libertarian candidate Ted Metz also participated in the debate.

Abrams said Kemp’s record as secretary of state "causes great concern" and pointed to the release of voter data under Kemp’s watch and the state’s "exact match" voter registration system, which has left tens of thousands of voter registrations "pending" due to inconsistencies.

The Democrat said she takes voting rights "very seriously" and said her own father had once been arrested trying to help people get registered…. [emphasis added]

Here’s complete video. It is interrupted by fire alarm early.  Just nudge it ahead.

Did she dominate, or what?

FYI, in the event of a recount, Kemp has stated that he will not recuse himself.

RESIST!!

  1. I have been trying to come up with an adequate analogy to describe Kemp’s behavior. He is so transparently and egregiously keeping his hand in the cookie jar … and yet he either cannot or will not (probably the latter) see it, and neither will Georgia Republicans. It takes my breath away. Has John Lewis weighed in on this yet? Or is he as speechless as I am?

  2. Ms. Abrams definitely did her homework. WTG, for the win!!!

  3. If I may brag, I have been doing a lot for Stacey Abrams: phone banking, postcard writing, mass texting. And yes, of course I voted for her.

  4. My feeling is that Brian Kemp is a racist. Kemp does not like the idea that a woman, a black woman, could beat him in the race to become Governor of Georgia is why he is working very hard to suppress the voter minority.
    .

  5. I’ll try to add to Joanne’s cookie-jar analogy. Remember those experiments where they let monkeys near a glass cookie jar with a narrow opening. With some effort the monkey’s could get their hands in the jar, but couldn’t retrieve it once they grabbed a cookie. The monkeys knew they shouldn’t “steal” and also knew their hands were visible in the jar, but once they overcame that, they dug in, couldn’t let go of the cookie and couldn’t get their hand out. So they just sat there, either looking very guilty or trying to get away with jar and all.

    Guess who’s the monkey here?

  6. Way to go, Ms. Abrams. I agree with others that she will make an excellent Governor. She certainly was ready to face this racist evil creep. He should be booted out from even running, for his illegal doing with the voters applications.

  7. I have not had the time to watch the entire video but it is apparent that Kemp was out classed and HE knows it based on his attitude as I saw it.  What makes his attitude even worse is Kemp’s refusal to step aside as Sec of State during the election period and any recount that may be necessary — clearly a conflict of interest.  Kemp has been caught trying to suppress the vote, specifically “losing” registrations. Typical Republican — cheating to win!!!

    Go Stacey Abrams!!!

  8. Thanks and rushing hugs! 26
