Here is the one hundred fortieth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honorees are the Republican white supremacist Proud Boys. They are so honored for their violent attack on a counter-protester outside the Metropolitan Republican Club in New York.

1015proud-boysThe Proud Boys took Manhattan Friday night, attending a lecture by their founder, Gavin McInnes, at the Metropolitan Republican Club of New York City.

Following the event, the white nationalist group took to the streets, brutally beating and kicking several individuals while shouting “faggot” and “cocksucker,” reportedly because one of them stole one of their MAGA hats. Fox News responded by only reporting on anti-fascist vandalism that had taken place at the venue, while continuing to portray Democrats as the real angry mobs.

McInnes’ lecture was about Otoya Yamaguchi, who himself was a member of an extremist right-wing group in Japan. In 1960, Yamaguchi stabbed Japan Socialist Party leader Inejiro Asanuma to death, and he has been celebrated as a hero of extreme nationalist groups.

McInnes claimed on Instagram that he would actually be “re-enacting this inspiring moment” at the event. That the Proud Boys were hyped to engage in violence of their own afterward appears to be no coincidence…

Here’s a video clip of this Republican assault and battery.

I bet this gives Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten a wet dream.

As much as Republicans insist that we are the angry mob, these Republicans demonstrated that they are the ones attacking people.

  1. I’m curious what anyone thinks WRT a Daily Kos post/diary that reports the Antifa people documenting (doxxing) who the Proud Boy (PB) attackers were.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/10/15/1804513/-Activists-identify-neo-brownshirts-who-left-Republican-event-to-initiate-brawl-in-NYC?utm_campaign=trending

It includes several NYPD Tweets asking for the public’s help in identifying them by calling a Tips Hotline.

But Antifa posted a Tweet naming the attackers in a group photo they took of themselves.

While some DKers say it’s OK because the NYPD asked for help, other DKers point out they asked people to report it to the Tips Hotline.

I’m pretty much against any doxxing, but I can see some conflict in this instance.

    • As a general rule, I’m against it, but since police made no attempt to stop the violence or arrest the Republican attacklers on the spot, I’m not confident they would act on tips. I’d also like to see someone sox the cops, who refused to do their job. 13

  2. Granted grabbing MAGA hats is wrong (they should be left with the owners until they gat mad enough to burn it themselves [preferably while wearing it]), the “punishment” in thie case does not fit the “crime.”

Nameless, I agree that doxxing is in general wrong, in this case it almost seems the doxxing was equivalent to putting up a “Wanted” poster – which also serves as a warning that there is someone dangerous in the neighborhood. Clearly those who did the doxxing did not trust the authorities to put up that poster, and, since it wasn’t my neighborhood, I don’t know how accurate that mistrust is.

  3. Then the spokesperson for the Rep. Club, after some vandalism there, complains about the erosion of the “democratic process!” Bunch of BS!

  4. Boy, this is scary. Sad that this is even happening. ugh!!!

  5. I lost the story somehow….

    .

  6. Is this what passes for civil discourse in Republican circles? These are nothing more than jackbooted Republican thugs who have no regard for the rule of law! I am not saying that there are no extremists on the left, but those on the right seem to greatly out number those on the left and always spoiling for a knock ’em down, drag ’em out brawl. That Republicans are always calling out Democrats for this is nothing more than projection! And all this over a MAGA hat? No thinking Democrat would want to have the stench of a MAGA hat on their hands.

  7. Those walking turds got their diapers in a bunch over a stolen MAGA hat? What a bunch of losers. This reminds me of Voltaire’s quote “My prayer to God is very simple: Lord, make my enemies ridiculous. My prayers have been answered.”

  8. Agree with Pat, Nita and Glennis. Our world has been turned upside down backwards are thanks to racist tRump. Thanks TomCat

  9. Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) comes to mind reading the report on what happened outside the venue. Having a MAGA hat grabbed is the excuse they needed to vent their poked-up, testosterone-drenched aggression. If there hadn’t been that the usual “he looked at me wrong” had sufficed.

Forming and controlling the Hitlerjugend gave Hitler tremendous power to target groups he didn’t like. Perhaps we need to be thankful that Faux News never bothered to report on the Proud Boys ?, so Drumpf in’t likely to get the idea that they could be very useful to him. If he really knew how to control anyone, that is. But there are enough people around him who’ll see the potential in these neo-nazis and use it.

  10. Thanks, hugs and amen to all. 09
