It’s a warm day here in that CatBox, and I’m enjoying my last few minutes of fresh air, before I have to button-up and fire up the AC.  I slept well last night, and I don’t know why, but I almost fell asleep at the keyboard, when I was researching this morning.  Oh God, it’s Monday!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:38 (average 4:24).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Religious Agony:

1014-Broncos20-Rams23

They were playing against a superior team, but their own stupid decisions, not the Rams, beat them.

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MoveOn Channel): The Biggest Midterm Election Program in MoveOn History

Thanks MoveOn. I’ve tried to help by embedding your materials, and kicking in a couple buck from time to time. I’d like to do more, if I could. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Bernie Sanders: Health care is a right, not a privilege

You have to love Bernie. As often as the CNN guy tried to move to peripheral matters, Bernie centered it on what is pertinent now. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Alternet: Iowa’s largest newspaper destroys the Republican Party in their endorsement of every Democrat running for the Congress in Iowa.

The Des Moines Register slams congressional Republicans on healthcare, tax cuts, deficits, tariffs, racism, misogyny, white nationalism and their fealty to Trump.

This editorial endorsement is a scathing rebuke of the Republican Party.

Go read it!

Kudos to the Des Moines Register. I bet a dollar that it isn’t the Fuhrer’s favorite paper. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

  1. 4:54 Well, that’s not seasonal here – we had snow yesterday.

MoveOn – This is a wonderful program and is being targeted where it will do the most good. I can’t afford money either, but anyone who can, this is a good place for it. And you all know I don’t say that very often.

Well, SOMEONE has to counter Trump’s lies that the Democrats want to destroy Medicare. Bernie does it well.

AlterNet – I don’t mind the other Repubs in Congress from there so much, at least not in the House, but Steve King really has to go! I hope this has an effect in the Fourth, but I fear too many there are too nuts. Or brainwashed. (Same thing, really.)

Cartoon – So far just today, “Apartment Annie,” Michelle O compared to a chimp, and a black woman beaten bloody for stepping in the wrong spot. Oh, and a beating in Spain of a black man on a train. And this JUST in – two Somali-American women missing since Saturday may have been found dead. 0505

  2. MO: What a a great video. I’m down with what she says, support, volunteer, etc, to make this all work. VOTE!!!

CNN: Love Bernie! Voter Turnout. Medicaid for all. Get out there and VOTE!!

AN: Excellent piece, passing on …

    Cartoon: Sad and depressing.

Bummer about your guys. Close too. It’s been raining all day here, 45-feels like 38. Had lunch with a little friend at his school today, not that I miss the rigors of school days, but it was so refreshing to see the little ones learning. Sweet day. Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “I miss having a President who is smarter than I am.” ~ Harold H. ~

  3. MoveOn: More power to them!
CNN: Medicare for ALL!  Vote, Vote, Vote!
Alternet: The Des Moines Register is doing a brave, good thing!
Pat: I miss having a president, period!

  4. MoveOn: Great Organization! Good moves!

CNN: Time for Medicare for everyone and let USA join many other civilized countries.

Alternet: WOW! A surprise! The Des Moines Register is attacking congressional Republicans on healthcare, tax cuts, deficits, tariffs, racism, misogyny, white nationalism and their fealty to Trump. Awesome and about time someone had some guts to slam the GOP!

Cartoon: Very sad. and it is, unfortunately, happening again. Sigh…

And, YES!, I kiss Obama too like many of you!! Big Sigh…
    .

  5. RA: Well, this just isn’t the Broncos’ year. Better times are ahead.

MoveOn: This could be our last chance to stop this country’s downward spiral into fascism and tyranny. Only if we progressives get our asses to the polls, and get our progressive kith and kin to vote, do we have any chance of effecting the Blue Wave. If Republicans win and stay in power, we are doomed to either crushing oppression or violent convulsions of rebellion.

Alternet: Tell it like it is! The GOP is not interested in governing, it is interested in running roughshod over everybody else.

Cartoon: And those knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing orcs are likely to do it again.

  6. MoveOn:  I love this organization and I am involved in many of their programs.
CNN:  Yes! Medicare for all.  Bernie is so refreshing.
Alternet:  This is fantastic news.  I shared the article.
    I miss President Obama too.

  7. MO: Great organization. Wishing the the best with growth.CNN: Bernie speaks such truth. We do need Medicare for all.AN: Good for The Des Moines Register.I agree with others about missing having a real president. Sorry to hear about the Broncos. Close score. Take care. Thanks TomCat

  8. MO: Keep up the good work, MoveOn. You’re doing a heck of a job and you need to keep it up for some time to come.

CNN: Bernie was spot on about health care during his campaign and he still is now. It’s a right and not a privilege for the happy, filthy-rich few and it is not the front door for the greed of insurance companies, the pharmaceutical industry, medical specialists and hospital management.

Alternet: No that is a surprise, coming from the largest IOWA newspaper and not one from California or New York. Kudos to them to sticking their neck out like that.

Cartoon: soon to return with gender discrimination, age discrimination, LGBT discrimination…

  9. Puzzle — 3:55  Well at least you will get sunflower seeds to munch on . . . eventually . . . and they are a good source of protein and fiber Puddy Tat!

MoveOn — I hope their campaign is over the moon successful!  Republicans, in their current iteration, are the worst cancer imaginable on the US.  Under Diaper Don, the Republican cancer has metastasised.  The country, as it was envisioned by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, is near death.  Mechanisms to change injustices  such as slavery were built into that document.  Vote BLUE straight down the line in 20 days!!!

CNN — Bernie Sanders: Health care is a right, not a privilege!!!  AMEN!!!  Diaper Don has been going on recently about Canadians using US doctors because of wait times as an argument against socialised medicine.  No system is perfect, but at least we did not and do not throw 23,000,000 citizens to the curb without healthcare.  To boot, wait times are being worked on.  As usual, Diaper Don has no idea of that of which he speaks.  DD needs a diaper change because he is so full of shit!!!

AlterNet — Let’s hope that the Des Moines Register, in their endorsement of every Democrat running for the Congress in Iowa, is listened to such that the likes of Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley never sit in Congress again . . . ever!!!

Cartoon — Grumpy old white men!  That it is happening yet again is very sad!  Obviously, some have not learned from history!

  10. From The Guardian: All the president’s men: what to make of Trump’s bizarre new painting

Thought I’d share this with you.  Diaper Don hung the painting in the WH outside of his office.  Thank God that there is a curator that is in charge of the décor in the Oval Office!   DD cannot change the Oval Office!!!  DD is so vulgar . . . on top of being narcissistic, stupid and a few other things, none of them complementary.

From left to right, these Republican presidents are Baby Bush, Daddy Bush, Ronnie Ray-Gun, Abe Lincoln, Ike Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Diaper Don, Tricky Dickie Nixon, Teddy Roosevelt.

Why Lincoln, Eisenhower and Roosevelt would not jump off the canvas to disassociate themselves from these other Republican criminals, I do not know.

  11. Thanks and hugs. 24
