It’s a cool day here in the CatBox, but it’s way too muggy (79%).  It’s another busy day.  Tomorrow is a holy day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb.  My Broncos are visiting the Ravens in an early game.  Sadly, it will not be televised here.  May the Orb bless your team with it’s holy light, unless they drop Baltimore bird shit.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:33 (average 4:21).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

A Time to Equalize:

Thanks to National Geographic:

May your equinox be Republican-free.  RESIST!!  VOTE BLUE!!

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Beto O’Rourke And Ted Cruz Trade Jabs At Fiery Senate Debate

Barf Bag Alert!!

How could anything cost Ted "Uranus" Cruz his dignity? What dignity?!!? The race is now a dead heat.  Go, Beto! Go!! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): NYT: Rod Rosenstein Discussed Secretly Taping Trump And 25th Amendment

There is bad blood between McCabe and Rosenstein, so that may be the issue here.  Furthermore, I think Rosenstein was using a technique to solve a problem called "brainstorming": you say whatever comes into your head, no matter how absurd, go over all those ideas, and act on your choices. There is nothing illegal or unethical about this. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From YouTube (Samantha Bee Channel): Sam Delivers Some "Sexy" Lines

Dang! Sam and her new set sure get a "Hottie Alert!" from me! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

  1. Equinoxes and solstices have been times of celebration for thousands of years. In December we need a similar video about the winter solstice and the true Reason for the Season.

    Real Jesus: “Feed the hungry!’
Republican Jesus: “Fuck ’em, let ’em starve – they deserve it!”

  2. 5:49 Maybe Squatch can save – him? her?

“Tevye” at Daily Kos has found another feel-good story so extreme that a hanky warning is needed. (Only in Canada!)

There is a time and a place for attack ads, and it looks to me like this is the time and the place.

Equinoctes – It always fascinates me how after an equinox or a solstice, when either the sunrise or the sunset changes from getting earlier (or later) to getting later (or earlier,) the other one doesn’t right away.

Beto – OMFG. I heard Beto turned everything into an advantage here, even his old drunk driving conviction, which 9as we’d already heard) he turned into an examination of privilege in the criminal justice system. Go Beto!

Rosenstein – I’ve joined in brainstorming (I still occasionally toss something out that I’m not totally behind just to see what kind of case can be made for and against.) I think you are right. Rosenstein seems like a pretty cool head to me.

Sam – Thank goodness for Canada! For so many reasons.

Cartoon – No words for such a heavy dose of truth.

  3. NG: Good video explaining these events.

MSNBC: I didn’t move at all when this was televised. Beto was spot on, and wasn’t intimidated by Cruz at all, even with his juvenile digs at Beto. To me, Beto was prepared, and direct with the questions presented. BETO is da MAN!!! GO BETO.

MSNBC #2: I agree, too much ado about nothing. Mr. Rosenstein seems to be calm, cool and collected, especially in this line of work.

    Sam: LOL !!

Cartoon: How very, very sad. And they don’t give a sheet either.

Rainy all day. We play the Giants at 1 tomorrow. Good luck with your team too. Hope that you have a good, relaxing evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Equinoxes: I like them, the GOPIGS better not declare that we can’t have them!
MSNBC #1: “Collusion in action.”  Did you hear that applause???  Cool!
MSNBC#2: “…look at what’s going on….”  What he does best, throws out an open concept, let’s his fans decide what items he’s talking bout, referring to…give them rein enough to complete his thought(?) according to what they want it believe.  About the DOJ, “These are great people, you take a poll, I have to be at 95%….”  what someone took a poll of the staff of the DOJ?  Yeah, right? Mr. Delusional himself. Utter nonsensical wording!!!!!!  If no one wore a wire, and R. was even serious, it is not a legal issue, it is a Dumpy’s feelings are hurt, issue.
Sam: That seems to be one steamy set!
    ‘Toon: Sadly the truth.

  6. Unfortunately the National Geographic video (even on YouTube itself) doesn’t have CC.

I remember as a kid it was hard for me to remember which seasons were Equinox and which were Solstice.  Finally got it because Autumn & Spring are almost my “equal” favorite seasons – so Equinox(Fall wins!)

Just like it was hard for me to remember which direction stalactites and stalagmites went.  Stalactites has a “c” in it – and they are like icicles.  Whereas stalagmites has an “m” in it, and they are made of mounds of minerals.

    • I bet Sasquatch has no such problems with stalactites and stalagmites, Nameless. The first have the “t” of “tomber” (to fall), so the water and minerals fall down from them; the second have the “m” from “monter” (to climb/mount), so the minerals will build up on those. I can’t remember either, you see and for me this aid is the only way to use the correct word. 19

    • People tell me i use complex mnemonics that are tougher then the information they are for, but this mnemonic is too complicated for me.  I just remember ants in the pants.  The mites go up and the tights go down.

  7. NG: Thanks, TomCat; I hope you had a good equinox too. I still prefer to have spring/autumn start astronomically at the equinox instead of the first of the meteorological first of March/September. The latter seems to have been prompted mainly by convenience and charting methods across whole months. But mother nature doesn’t care much for either these days. Locally spring had started here even before the first of of September.

MSNBC #1: The audacity of Ted Cruz to claim that he did je job he was chosen to do: represent 28 million Texans. He never represented anything but the NRA and other big donors to his campaign. It seems that Texans are finally getting that. Go Beto!

MSNBC #2:The different versions of what happened in 2017 after Comey was fired only shows how chaotic the Administration, the DOJ and the FBI had become under a dysfunctional resident. That this now is “leaked” to the media and is used in a Drumpf rally almost before the ink is dry, to use an old-fashioned quip, seems too good to be true. It is obvious that the dysfunctional resident and the few still loyal to him will try anything to stop Mueller in his tracks, and apparently Rosenstein, not willing to fire Mueller, is in “the line of firing” again to be replaced by someone who will. This farce will bee repeated again and again until either Mueller finishes his investigations or they find some “dirt” on Rosenstein, or Mueller himself, and have them fired.

    Sam ?: ?

Cartoon: Republican Jesus: First I forced your mother to carry you to term, now I refuse to feed you because you’re not wanted.

  8. Thanks all.  Pooped hugs! 04
