I have no idea why, but I could not fall asleep last night, and I dozed for a couple hours at most, so don’t be surprised, if I typo.  In theory, the AC should stay off all day, but the sun just came out, so I’ll have to see if it stays.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:31 (average 5:33).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Robert Mueller Secures Full Cooperation, Guilty Plea From Paul Manafort (19 min.)

Would anyone be surprised that Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten, aka the Tweeting Traitor, is about to smell a big stinky Manafart? RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From CNN: Anita Hill called on the federal government to implement a "fair and neutral" way to investigate sexual misconduct complaints after allegations surfaced against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh this week.

Hill, who accused Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of workplace sexual harassment during his confirmation hearing back in 1991, said she has seen "firsthand what happens when such a process is weaponized against an accuser and no one should have to endure that again."

Then a law professor at the University of Oklahoma, Hill testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that she had been sexually harassed by Thomas when she worked with him at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Thomas denied the allegations and he was confirmed to the bench.

At the time there were three more women, who wanted to testify against Thomas. They were denied, and Republicans pushed through the confirmation instead. We need to stop Pervert Kava-Nazi first! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From The New Yorker: Donald J. Trump placed “a large number” of phone calls to his former campaign manager Paul Manafort on Friday morning, and all of them went straight to voice mail, White House sources have confirmed.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the number of voice-mail messages that Trump left for Manafort was somewhere in the range of twelve to three hundred.

Trump reportedly continued to leave messages for Manafort until his mailbox was full, after which Trump hurled his phone across the room, narrowly missing Mike Pence’s head.

Dang Andy! What a crime! Did he really have to miss Pence?!!? RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

  1. 4:20 Strange description.

Rachel – “Litany” is not a bad analogy. “A series of petitions … recited by the clergy and responded to in a recurring formula by the people.” Fascinating. (BTW, I can spell “superseding.” It’s one of the 10 most misspelled words in English.) This judge certainly sounds thorough and reasonable.

CNN – While I can most certainly understand why, the fact that the accuser is insisting on complete and total anonymity certainly ties the hands of Democrats and investigators.

TNY – Yes, this is very funny – the funniest part being the implication that Donald Trump would not know that Manafort was in a place where he could not have answered a phone even if he had wanted to. Sad though that is, it’s believable, and that’s a scream.

Cartoon – Don’t you wish that in the intervening 47 years we could have made enough progress that we would no longer need them? Sigh. We will need Greenpeace as long as the human race lasts (which I hope will be longer than I fear it will be).

  2. MSNBC: WOW!! That big old hole they’ve been digging… has 8 guilty people in there now. BOOM is right! By the court sending him back to prison…do they view him as a flight risk, or just continuing his prison sentence, or are they concerned for Manafort’s safety, or is that a SOP?? jw…

CNN: What Joanne said. It’s a serious charge, and if it were me, I would want it out in the open. imhoNO to KavaNope!!

    NYer: Hilarious!! LOL, Andy!

Cartoon: A worthy organization! “Greenpeace will never stop fighting for a greener, healthier world for our oceans, forests, food, climate, and democracy—no matter what forces stand in our way.” ~ Greenpeace ~

Hope that you get your rest, do take good care, enjoy your evening, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “They have Ted Nugent. We have Willie Nelson. I’m happy.” anon

  3. Rachel: May Manafort blow the lid sky high!  Right now, this is just DELICIOUS news!
CNN: G.H.W. Bush was president at the time of Thomas’ selection, maybe that says something about the result.  The country was still in considerable denial about the prevalence of sexual assault, back then, as well, and women’s voices, which are still not quite given enough validity, were much more suspect, back then.  ANITA HILL ROCKS!
New Yorker:  My thoughts, exactly, TC!
‘Toon: Love them, hate, as Joanne said, that we still need them!

  4. If Mueller really has gotten full cooperation from Manafort, then maybe he can topple the tRump regime. As if the Orange Ogre’s Oval Office hasn’t done itself enough damage.

Go get ’em, Madame Hill! I scarcely recall Thomas’ confirmation, but I’m glad to see that Hill refuses to be silent. Kava-nut will be bad news for this country in so many ways.

Happy Birthday, Greenpeace! Time to bake a cake from sustainable, non-GMO ingredients – in the shape of a whale. Or a polar bear.

  5. WOW, i watched the Rachel vid, it’s so complicated, so can trump pardon Manafort? Will he?This is so juicy!

PETITION;Kavanaugh’s Sexual Assault Allegation Must Be Investigated Thoroughly

    https://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/311/756/649/

    Thanx TC

  6. MSNBC: Boy, Mueller’s workplace must be a joy to work in with so many canaries singing. And if there’s one animal Drumpf hates it’s a canary.

CNN: Back in 1991 we thought Republicans half way decent, but look how they destroyed Anita Hill’s life to push Thomas through. Imagine what would happen if Republicans would get their hands on the name of the woman who made a complaint against Kavenaugh in this age. Kudos to Anita for speaking up, but ‘a “fair and neutral” way to investigate sexual misconduct complaints’? Republicans don’t know the meaning of “fair and neutral”; not then and not now.

TNY: Andy, I don’t think Manafort isn’t picking up; he just had all calls coming from the White House, Drumpf Tower or any of Drumpf’s golf-hidings blocked.

    Cartoon: Happy birthday, Greenpeace!
Moving Down Under I had to cancel my 38-year-old membership to Greenpeace Netherlands, but I’ve renewed it in two weeks ago in Australia. That may tell you how I feel about that organisation.

  7. Puzzle — 4:57  Love the purple, hate my time!

MSNBC — Yowser!!! KA-BOOM! is an understatement!  I wonder if Diaper Don feels used since he extolled Manafort while denigrating Cohen for turning.  Now Manafort has turned!  And no tweets yet from Twitler the twit!  Normally by now, he’d be tweeting his rage.  Look out for Diaper Don’s nuclear meltdown!

CNN — I agree with Hill . . . a full non partisan investigation of Kavanazi needs to be done and all documents need to be made available to Democrats.  Enough of this Republican bullshit!  After that, McTurtle needs to be impeached (if that option is available) for multiple counts of obstruction of justice.

The New Yorker —  Andy, you sure have Diaper Don pegged to a tee!

Cartoon — Happy Birthday Greenpeace!  You’ve come a long way over 47 years!

It is raining like crazy.  At one point yesterday, the rain was coming so strongly, it was jumping about 15 cm off the pavement!  Mind, that is nothing compared to folks dealing with Florence.  Prayers for their safety.

  8. Thanks and late hugs to all.  26
