Here is the one hundred thirty-fourth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Faux Noise Emcee, Marshall McPeek, aka McPuke, honored for the level of bigotry against LQBTQ folk that comes from the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise.

0910Marshall-McPeekThe emcee at an LGBT journalists’ organization annual conference Saturday night called attendees “things and its.” Marshall McPeek, a meteorologist at a Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate station in Ohio later apologized and resigned his membership to The Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA).

“Ladies and gentlemen, things and its,” were the words McPeek chose to begin the evening’s event in Palm Springs, California, which was hosted by Fox News.

But it was a tweet from Mary Emily O’Hara, who covers LGBTQ news for Condé Nast’s them, that drew attention to McPeek’s offensive remarks. Those remarks were seen as especially bigoted toward the transgender and non-binary journalism professionals in attendance… [emphasis added]

Contrary to McPuke’s Republican bigotry, attendees were she, he or whatever non-binary personal pronoun they might choose, not "things and its".  That’s not English; it’s Republi-speak.

  1. You might want to add to the list of those fitting the picture the moron who suggested McPuke might make a good EmCee for an occasion like this. Althoug, whoever that is may have s head even farther up than the picture shows.

  2. What a putz!

Even sadder, this is your 134th entry?  There’s just no end to their hate-mongering, is there?

    *sad*

  3. Love the picture! That is Rethuglicanazis in spades.

  4. What a cad! Good grief, how rude. Your picture is spot on! Aren’t they all?

  5. He’s a meteorologist?  One of those who “know” that global warming is a hoax…up his derriér!

  6. I really don’t understand half of this article and the original didn’t enlighten me. Why was Marshall McPeek a member of The Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA) in the first place? One would assume that he’d belong to one of the categories  the NLGJA represents, and I guess gay men can be just a bigoted towards people who are different from what they are as anyone else, but why would he join if that was the case.

And why would the The Association of LGBTQ Journalists let Faux New host their annual conference? This is exactly the thing one would expect Faux-News affiliated to come up with, so why take the risk? You can tell I’m still confused.

  7. Given that McPeek is/was a member of the NLGJA, I would assume that he is gay.  If that is the case, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, then he should understand bigotry.  If he understands bigotry then he should know his chosen words were disgustingly inappropriate.  I say ‘should’ because obviously he did not understand bigotry.  What a POS this McPeek is!  Good thing that he resigned from the NLGJA!

Why is Faux Noise, the Republican Reich Ministry of Propaganda sponsoring this event?  Are they trying to buy brownie points?

  8. Lona and Squatch, I don’t think he’s a member of NKGJA.  He was just a Faux Noise meteorologist, who was emceeing  their event.  How they could be so stupid as to put it on Faux Noise, I have no idea.

Thanks, Hugs, and Amen to all! 28

    • The article says “Marshall McPeek, a meteorologist at a Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate station in Ohio later apologized and resigned his membership to The Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA).” which is why I commented as I did.

In any event, his actions still do show him to be a POS!
