It’s that time of week again, so here are three fine video clips from Bill’s show last night.  Enjoy!

Steven Pinker: Enlightenment Now

Bill’s list is too long. Here’s mine: Republicans, everything else.

Lawence O’Donnell: A Cheatable System

"Democrats would have done the honorable thing." That is the key difference between the parties. What if the Chief Injustice of SCROTUS (Republican Unconstitutional VD) opts to refuse to swear-in the Democratic President elect in 2021?

New Rule: I, Q

Hilarious! Q can be useful, if pared with an I. GOP sheeple IQ < 60.

His last bit blew me away!!

RESIST!!

VOTE BLUE!!

87 DAYS!!

  1. Steven Pinker – We do need good news … but my takeaway here is we do need to be doing something about somw problems if we want there to be good news in the future.

Lawrence – I love listening to Lawrence. He gets things, and he doesn’t mince words. I do disagree on one thing – “white America” didn’t learn anything from the death of Michael Brown. Only that small part of “white America” which was predisposed to accept reality learned from it. That may be a large number of people, but it’s a small percentage of the number of people who needed to learn something.

New Rule – It really doesn’t matter, does it, what kind of nonsense they come up with – they have an answer for everything. Evangelical Christians, Scientologists, HDS, flat earthers, miscellaneous CTs, alcoholics, drug addicts, you name it – And there’s no getting through to them.

I did manage to watch the opening monologue too, since the hour-long ones are out there, and the monologue is right at th beginning.  I loved his characterization of Giuliani:  “My client has nothing to hide as long as you don’t ask him about what he has to hide.” ROTFL!

  2. “What if the Chief Injustice of SCROTUS (Republican Unconstitutional VD) opts to refuse to swear-in the Democratic President elect in 2021?”

Fortunately it wouldn’t matter one bit.  There are quite a few instances where someone other than the Chief Justice administered the Oath of Office.  Including the one (and only time … so far) a woman administered the Oath:

Federal Judge Sarah T. Hughes administered the oath of office to Lyndon B. Johnson aboard Air Force One after John F. Kennedy’s assassination on November 22, 1963.

  3. Steven Pinker was very positive & interesting.
i really liked Lawence O’Donnell, he’s so right about your electoral college, it’s normality to y’all but it sounded quite insane to me when i first heard about it! Wonder if i can get his show on youtube?
Oh my goodness Bill was brilliant as “Q”i needed the laughs!!!
    TY?TC

  4. Mr. Pinker: Very positive, like how relaxed he is. My dad always told us to leave a place better than you found it, and I do try to do that, so that the next generation can enjoy it. Eh….republicans? No so much.

Mr. O’Donnell: Shame they can’t physically remove dt by the Secret Service now!! Good clip. I like Lawrence too. Michael Brown’s (RIP), mom is running for city council in Ferguson.

IQ: Help me!! Help me like you! “There hasn’t been any Non-evidence yet”. wha the hell??! sigh…….. Last part was great !!

  5. Bill #1: He did not give Pinker much of a platform, here.  I have trouble with guru’s of optimism.
Bill #2: It is my understanding that “They”  knew very well what they were doing, when they instituted the EC:  “They” set it up for the purpose of being able to keep themselves, rich, white, men, landowners, in power; simple.  “Secret Service will remove him from the building….”   Oh, I want the video!!!!!!!!!!!!  “Black america always knew!”  Sure, that was part of their daily lives.
Bill#3: “And then it starts to get weird.”  “There’s no non-evidence.”  Is evidence of non-intelligence the same as evidence of imbecility?  That was one great piece!!

  6. Bill Maher #1: For every bit of good news there a dozens of bits of bad news. But the most important message from Bill and Pinker: Never ever get complacent, Democrats. Don’t revert on strategic voting, but whatever you do, vote blue!

Bill Maher #2: If O’Donnell is comfortable with reissuing an older book – with some re-editing, I would hope – then we can be certain that nothing much has changed for the better since it first came out. No, it probably has gotten worse since then, and O’Donnell makes it very clear that a lot of it has to do with Drumpf ‘s and Republican’s influence.

Bill Maher #3: I bet there are a few Drumpfian numskulls out there now who really believe Bill is indeed Q. They’ve been entertaining that thought for months.

    Thanks for posting, TomCat.

  7. Every generation has its worries. Every generation has folks who swear that the End of the World is just around the corner. Nothing is constant except change, and the more things change the more they stay the same.

  8. Thanks and hugs from the floor. 33
