The heat wave continues here in Portland with an excessive heat warning still in place.  Here in the CatBox, my AC is barely holding its own.  I am exerting myself as little as possible, but listening to the Fuhrer commit treason makes it hard for me to keep from screaming.

Today’s took me 4:01 (average 4:42).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (NY Times Channel): President Trump: Don’t Be Putin’s Puppet

Amen! But Trump has been Putin’s Puppet at least since inauguration day, if not before. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From BBC: The US has rejected pleas from the EU to grant exemptions to European firms from the sanctions on Iran that will start to be reinstated next month.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin wrote in a letter that they wanted to exert “unprecedented” pressure on Tehran.

Waivers will only be given on national security or humanitarian grounds.

President Donald Trump ordered that the sanctions be re-imposed in May after abandoning a nuclear deal with Iran.

The UK, France and Germany – which were also parties to the 2015 accord, along with Russia and China – pledged to continue abiding by their commitments.

How absurd! The Republican Reich is punishing Europeans for abiding by an international agreement that Republicans violated. I bet Russia gets exemptions! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Think Progress: President Donald Trump met with Finnish president Sauli Niinistö Monday, ahead of his scheduled summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

According to reporters, Trump thanked the Finnish president for his support and said the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) has never been stronger.

“I enjoyed being with you a couple of days ago. NATO has, I think, never been stronger. It was a little bit tough at the beginning, but it turned out to be love. I appreciated your support,” Trump said in his opening remarks.

Finland, however, is not in NATO.

Unfortunately for Fuhrer Drumpfenfarten and the Republican Reich, the world is watching his perfect example of Republican competence. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

URL for submitting official comments (your info will be public record. I think it’s worth it, but if that’s a deal-breaker for you, don’t go there.)

NYT – I would say he’s been Putin’s puppet since he started accepting Russian money – 2013? Before that?

BBC – We are now vulnerable from within and also from without. We can be thankful that real people in the EU mostly realize that most of us in the US are NOT Trump, or his followers, and they feel sorry for us.I can pay that sentiment forward to the Russian people, who also don’t deserve the “leadership” they have.

TP – D’oh. I haven’t been watching streams this morning because I had a lunch date with a friend and didn’t want to ruin both our moods. But I do know there was nothing good. I don’t have to watch anything toknow that.

    Cartoon – This guy again.

  2. NYT: He is one who would kiss vp’s wading boots if he had a chance or hug him. ugh!

    BBC: What Joanne said.

TP: dt: Walking….ok. Talking….not so good. (horrible, actually!)

    Cartoon: ugh!!

Seriously..right now, I pray for America, for all of us, and it’s citizens. I feel mental pain after today’s events, and it’s been a gut-wrenching experience since he was elected, w/this fake potus. Today was no different/better. El Fin.

Thanks, Tom. Have a good evening.

  3. Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican.

The cartoon is all too true. We need to inform those who whine about welfare and food stamp “parasites” that, for every penny spent on public aid, taxpayers get stuck for several dollars’ worth of corporate welfare, as well as tax breaks for the ultra-rich – to say nothing of the obscene amount this country spends on defense.

  4. NYT: Well we know “…who really runs the world,” and it’s not Dumpy!  She’s right to say that he (Dumpy) does not care.  Hey, he’s just going to meet Putin to get his newest marching orders, and THE SCAM GOES ON!
BBC: Oh, Mr. business acumen will fix it all; Mr. “Erase Obama” will fix it all!
TP: He’s really, really, impressing the world, right!
‘Toon: But, shush, it’s got to be done so smoothly, quietly, and the real “Welfare Queens” need not be identified!

  5. WOW very powerful vid!!!! ✊
    Thanx TC

  6. NYT: Members of the Russian feminist Pussy Riot also protested in similar, but more subdued, fashion. Two of them were arrested and were sentenced to two weeks imprisonment. To the envy of Drumpf, because he wishes he had that totalitarian power too.

BBC: The US steps out of an agreement, simply because it was forged under Obama, and now the EU has to plead for European firms to be exempt from the sanction on Iran the US is imposing one-sidedly. The EU members are honouring the agreement and now they are punished for it. This is blackmail of the lowest sort. I hope the EU and European firms stand firm and make the US choke on its sanctions.

TP: Neither of the Drumpfs followed protocol when meeting the Queen of GB, Drumpf offends PM May, Drumpf doesn’t know that Finland isn’t in NATO and couldn’t care less, he needed to radiate his exceptional handling of NATO, Drumpf betrays his country for his master Putin…has he done anything right?

    • IIRC, one of the people he pardoned was actually innocent … but I forget the name.  It was a person of color, though.  Beyond that, I would say no, nothing.

  7. Puzzle — 3:56  Looks like you wilted in the heat before the posies Puddy Tat!

NY Times — Brave woman to speak out, even in exile.  Putin has shown that he is not above using powerful poisons against opponents anywhere in the world.  But Drumpf will not listen because he is enthralled with Putin.  Putin is wily like a fox, while Drumpf is just plain stupid.

BBC — Tell Pompeo, Mnuchin and Drumpf to shove their renewed sanctions and their letter so far up their keisters that the light of day will never see them!  Stand strong!  The US is engaged in a criminal act IMO.

Think Progress — Drumpfian and Republican competence = total and complete incompetence to the rest of the world and at least half of the US citizenry.

Cartoon — I was listening to a local radio commentator, Bill Good Jr, the other day talking about some of the similarities and differences between Canada and the US . . . the Supreme Court nominations in the US, the politics, and particularly the social programme aspects.  He concluded by saying he appreciates the Canadian system.  I could not agree with him more as I often do.  “Thou shalt pay welfare to the 0.1%” should be classified as a criminal act!

Damn, it is ugly hot yesterday and today!  It is only 24C right now but it feels like 30C.  I can’t stay dry . . . the humidity is 60% right now but there is no rain in sight.  Hope your AC holds up!  My fan is running non stop!

  8. Thanks and Hot Hugs!  Like Squatch, the humidity is horrid. 19
