It’s the hottest day of the week with forecast high in the low 100°s.  UGH!!  I’ll stink soon after my shower.  WWWendy is coming this morning.  I expect her in 30 minutes.  The plan is to exert myself as little as possible.

Wendy just left.  Most of my shower was cold water by choice.  The AC is barely holding it’s own.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Todays took me 3:48 (average 4:59).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Robert Reich: The Fog of Trump

The Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is partially right. Trump’s antics distract from what the Reich on the Right, The Republican Reich, are doing to damage our nation. They have been trying to do all the awful things Robert listed for years, before they put Trump on the pedestal. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From LA Times: California Democratic Party leaders took a step to the left Saturday night, endorsing liberal state lawmaker Kevin de León for Senate in a stinging rebuke of Democratic icon Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

De León’s victory reflected the increasing strength of the state party’s liberal activist core, which was energized by the election of Republican President Trump.

The endorsement was an embarrassment for Feinstein, who is running for a fifth full term, and indicates that Democratic activists in California have soured on her reputation for pragmatism and deference to bipartisanship as Trump and a Republican-led Congress are attacking Democratic priorities on immigration, healthcare and environmental protections.

De León, a former state Senate leader from Los Angeles, received 65% of the vote of about 330 members of the state party’s executive board — more than the 60% needed to secure the endorsement. Feinstein, who pleaded with party leaders meeting in Oakland this weekend not to endorse any candidate, received 7%, and 28% voted for “no endorsement.”

Kudos to CDP! I add my endorsement of DeLeon! RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

From Alternet: It’s all right there in the indictment — day by day, hack by hack, theft by theft — how agents of the Russian intelligence service, the GRU, set out in the spring of 2016 to steal the election for Donald Trump. When you track the actions taken by Russian intelligence in the indictment with statements made by Trump and actions taken on his behalf by members of his campaign, the picture is as clear as an iPhone photo. Agents of the Russian government coordinated with members of the Trump campaign and took cues from Trump himself in order to influence the election of 2016.

In announcing the indictment, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein may have refused to point to a victim of the Russians’ crimes other than to say it was America itself, but the intent of the Russians was clear. They took active measures over a period of at least nine months to aid the campaign of Donald Trump and to damage the campaign of Hillary Clinton. They stole the election for Donald Trump, and he helped them do it.

The author concludes that the evidence in the indictment renders the Trump Presidency illegitimate. I fully agree. RESIST!! VOTE BLUE!!

  1. 7:04 Marines don’t practice knots. Maybe Pat would do better.

From Daily Kos … more at link

“My father was a wealthy businessman who knew Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s father. We Europeans study our history and we know how Hitler came to power. We are determined that it will not happen again. I’m a Republican but I did not vote for Trump and I will not vote for Trump because when I look at Trump and when I listen to Trump I see and hear Hitler.”

Reich – Computer gaming, both on line and downloadable, is filled with plots involving poisonous fog. Good analogy here.

LATimes – I saw the fact, briefly (some days it seems that EVERYTHING goes through my inbox). I didn’t see the breakdown. I agree with the endorsement, certainly.

AlterNet – I agree. It’s a measure of the intellect of Trump supporters that some (I’m looking at YOU, Rudy) are saying that no Americans could have been involved because none are mentioned in the indictments. That’s sort of like saying ok, they’ve proved the bank was robbed, but no one did it because no names are mentioned in the story. D’oh.

Cartoon – And I need eye bleach.

  2. RR: The fog Drumpf creates is now so thick you can cut it with a knife. Don’t let that fog keep you from the truth nor interfere with your own clear thinking. RESIST by focusing on the TRUTH.

LAT: Excellent news, Out with the old, in with the new! Kudos to 65% of the CDP who understand what is at stake here now.

Alternet: The author, Lucian K. Truscott IV, makes an excellent case for why Rosenstein is indicting these twelve Russians and why Drumpf is sitting in the Oval Office illegitimately. Lets hope Rosenstein can see this indictment through.

  3. RR: Most of us, (here), thankfully see through his bull sheet. dt’s nothing but a liar and cheat, etc., etc., !!

LAT: I agree with this endorsement. Time for new faces to take the helm.

AN: While the hole is deep, the dirt is filling in. No shovels needed now…

    Cartoon: Eww!

It’s hot here too! ugh. I have no energy to do chores. Hope that you have a good rest of your day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom. (Hi WWWendy!)

*Joanne, the DK story was so sweet! Loved it !! Re: knots. Back in boot camp, if I remember correctly, uh, yeah, we had a whole WEEK of learning and practicing the basic line-handling skills of knot-making techniques. I think that there were about 80-90(ish) knots in all that we had to learn. Plus everything else going on. Despite my CRS, I still remember how to tie a few though. Even after 49 years..lol.

  4. RR Channel: Reich is spot on, as usual!  I don’t think anyone here is fooled by Dumpy, but his tactics work formations.  Dictators have long used these tools, on the way to “office,” and once there.  Dumpy has always been a liar, cheat, scammer, grifter.  The entire election, and its consequences has been a huge scam, little else. Follow the money, from Russia to Dumpy, and then ask yourself how much money (in the tens of millions)was held up by Pres. Obama’s  reasonable sanctions agains Russia.?  Truth is stranger than fiction, because thesis one of those things about which an author would say “You can’t make this stuff up!”
    LA times:Good for them!
Alternet: Dumpy helped them do it, but SO DID MCCONNELL!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. The news from California is definitely good. It shows that progressives are coming out to support real Democrats and not “moderate” DINOs. Go DeLeon, and kick political butt!

  6. Robert Reich is awesome!!
    The toon – BARF!!!

  7. I just saw this, and had to share…Enjoy!!!

  9. Puzzle — 4:23  Nothing to eat here Puddy Tat unless you’re a rat who likes to gnaw on sea ropes!

Robert Reich — Kudos to Reich for telling it as it is.  While I agree with you Puddy Tat that the Reich on the right has been destroying the country brick by brick for a long time, the damage has been ratcheted up with the false election of Drumpf as POTUS.  Drumpf is a dictator, soon to be POTUS for life if he gets his way.

LA Times — While Feinstein might be synonymous with the Democratic party from years passed, from what I have seen, her  time has come to exit the centre stage as gracefully as possible.  She first entered the Senate in 1992 and is 85 years young.  But a lot has happened in those intervening years and it’s time to turn the reins over.  She has a lot of good experience that could be used to support a younger generation of candidates so that she is not entirely out of the loop.  Kudos to the California Democratic Party for endorsing De León.

AlterNet — “Donald Trump is president because Vladimir Putin wanted him to be. He acts like he owes Putin every single day.” — Yup!!!  It is time to change the bath water and this time, throw the baby out with the bath water!  It is past time to call Drumpf was he is — a traitor!!!

    Cartoon — Yuk!!!

It was 32C (90F) yesterday and that heat along with a lack of good sleep had me feeling dizzy.  I lay in front of the fan when I came home from church and had a short nap.  Then last night, I put some stuffed peppers in the oven for supper.  Unfortunately, I fell asleep until this morning so my stuffed peppers are burnt offerings!  Burnt does not begin to describe them.  But I learned something . . . my oven shut off automatically without being on a timer.  So much for last night’s dinner and future meals from that tray of peppers.  Today is supposed to be equally hot at a minimum.  I do not like the heat!!!  Well have to go get some ‘bay food’ before the kids express their opinion of no food on my body.
