I slept very poorly last night as people used 4th avenue as a drag strip, and later, other people entertained themselves by setting off car alarms.  I also had a hard tome finding material, because the wedding and rehashing evidence against the Fuhrer dominated the news.  Wendy is due in about fifteen minutes.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:43 (average 4:39).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (SNL Channel): Donald Trump Robert Mueller Cold Open

I still can’t believe how realistic they are! RESIST!!

Also from YouTube (SNL Channel)(It’s the end of the season): Sarah Palin Advice

Before Palin became Bloody Bullseye Barbie for her role in the Gaby Giffords shooting, Tina Fey did a magnificent Drill Baby Dingbat! RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: With the tragic mass shooting at Sante Fe High School in Texas unfolding over the past few hours, it’s a good time to remember what is not being done about the gun violence threatening our children. It’s also important to note that the NRA loves Texas Republicans. According to Texas Monthly, Texas Republicans have gotten the most yummy money from the NRA since 1998.

Nine members of the Texas delegation—all Republicans—received A+ ratings from the NRA. These include senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. Another 18 members—all Republicans except for U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Laredo—received an A grade. Seven Democrats, including U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke—who is hoping to unseat Cruz in the Senate this fall—received an F rating. Only two Texas Democrats—U.S. Rep. Gene Green, from Houston, and Cuellar—accepted any money from the NRA.  [emphasis added]

See? Both parties are NOT the same. Lefties who say they are allow Republican propagandists make them useful fools. RESIST!!

The United States is still in a constitutional crisis, but that crisis is now closer to be resolved in the form of an autocratic state.

SNL – They are all just marvelous. Not sure that Donald is actually smart enough to recognize Bobby … but it is great theatre.

SNL 2 – A really great song just can’t be killed, can it?

DKos – Gee – as long as we are talking politics and parties – this might be a good time to mention that Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, a DEMOCRAT, just swift-boated Amy McGrath.

Cartoon – I don’t know how long it lasted, but it ended having written the “Credo” still used in the mass today, and featured in every musical mass known to humanity.

  2. SNL 1 & 2: Awesome, AWESOME!!! Liked ‘Bob’ coming in and giving Alex (dt) the eye contact too.

DK: Go, Beto, Go!! Shame those that support the NRA can’t grow a heart for those killed by bullets to pay for those families grieving/mourning. SHAME!

    Cartoon: Good read.

Joanne: Disappointed that he did that. I’m for Amy. All. The. Way.!!! This is her ’90th’ mission, btw….HooRah!

I was up early watching the wedding, it was lovely! Hope that you have a relaxing evening, take good care, get some rest, and Thanks, Tom.

  3. No, the two potties that run this country are not the same, not QUITE the same. If genuine progressives can wrest leadership of the Democrats from the moderate fossils, we will see some real difference!

  4. If I NEVER heard Sarah Palin’s name – or even more so, herself – again, I would die a contented man.

(Well, unless it was something like “Sarah Palin has been arrested for …” OR “Sarah Palin has been convicted of …”)

  5. The news may not have you with much material, but the two SNL clips sure made up for that. Sad to realize these are the last of the season; what are we going to do when all those who sustain us with humor and keep us going, are going on (a much needed) holiday themselves. Let’s hope Drumpf is in need of a long holiday too, after working so hard?, and refrains from setting the world on fire in Iran or in North Korea after the summit is definitely cancelled.

DK: As Freya correctly noted, not QUITE the same, but room for improvement nevertheless: have Texan U.S. Rep. Gene Green, from Houston, and Cuellar stop accepting money from the NRA, and have all Democrats in other states do the same.

    • I’ve seem to have fallen from grace again with Care2 and haven’t received your reminders of your articles for two days in a row now. Perhaps this is also the case for some of your other Care2 friends.

  6. Puzzle —4:24  The hot sun, with or without the parasol, is not my thing.  I have sensitive Sasquatch skin!

Daily Kos — Here we go again! . . . or is it STILL!  Republicans prove that they worship at the altar of greed and power!  Puddy Tat, your parody of Blowin’ in the Wind a few days ago is so apt.  May there be a blue wave in November that is so large that it annihilates everything red!

Cartoon — “Constantine the Great summoned the bishops of the Christian Church to Nicaea to address divisions in the Church” (Wikipedia).  It ran from 20 May to 19 June 325 CE.

This is our Victoria Day long weekend and the traditional start of the spring/summer growing season and the first weekend for camping.  Here in southern BC, these are less important because we have a more temperate climate, but in central and northern BC, the Prairies and the East where weather is more severe, these traditions generally hold sway.  Happy Victoria Day!!!

  7. Thanks all!  OGIM Hugs! 19

  8. Both vids unavailable in my country 10
